Was insightful that Saban didn’t think he’d win as sure as the rest of the country did is what it was.

I don’t 100% disagree but last night with the world watching, the SEC just had their lunch eaten by an ACC team and that’s a fact and it’s one that will be in the mind of the people who make the selections possibly one day.

Of course I want parity (well I actually want us to be the best) but I want someone other than Bama to be there and there has been but Bama has been a legacy team for a decade. Dynasties happened. We had an amazing run and another one is coming. SEC first is just my opinion. There is no team that plays in the SEC that I wish loses to a non SEC team and I include UGA.

I’ll concede that if the SEC starts actually sucking over a period of more than 2 years that we may end up paying a price in terms of respect, bowl selection, etc. But that’s not going to happen.

Georgia getting thumped by Texas took a lot of the shine off Kirby, and that helps UF more than if they’d won - for sure it does. We recruit against them head to head, and play them every year...and they have a small streak going against us. I don’t hate Georgia like I do ref$u - but their success comes at our expense, so I typically pull against them.

Bama? So tired of their domination of our conference and the world of college football. And they cheat and pay players. And get away with it. Had they won it would have been 6 NCs in 10 years. No thanks to that. Plus, they cherry pick Florida for recruits too. So a lot of the shine was knocked off Saban on Monday night and that also helps us.

Florida dominated Michigan, lowly Kentucky beat Penn State, and LSU best the undefeated defending national champions. The SEC will come through this just fine. Our biggest rival just went 5-7 and our next two rivals got clobbered in their bowls. All good for UF.

I know this is way too early, but what I heard from talk during the game makes me think he may become the football equivalent to Bill Walton, who was truly transcendent in college but had a "what the hey" attitude and it took away from his pro career.

I’m just glad to see that all the pundits are keeping things out of hyperbole.

It will take until about his 3rd unsuccessful year in the NFL as a starter before people realize you can never guess an all time anything. People never learn.

Now this is exactly the way I see the top 10 teams after all of the bowl games played out. The reason why we should be ahead of LSU is we beat them head to head, and even though UGA beat us we ended on a four game winning streak, and UGA lost their last two games including their bowl game to a four loss Texas team. This is sound logic why we are ahead of both LSU and UGA.

At times yes. But the obvious problem and it’s certainy seems not to be getting and better, you’ve got all those self appointed “expert” sports media types who think they are so much smarter than all the rest of us. Now the last few years I’ve noticed the USA TODAY Coaches Poll seems to me to at least have a lot more accurate rankings in their weekly College Football Polls during the season.
