Top 10 would be beyond any sane persons expectations. It could happen
Need both quality and quantity to move up. We often don’t have the numbers, as we don’t oversign. As such, goal is to be in top 10 in average star ranking
If you look at the star ratings on Rivals, our player ratings are better than 14 of the teams ranked ahead of us. most of the teams ahead of us are so because of numbers. I think some already are in the 20s in the number of commits, whereas we have eleven. Are we going to catch Bama, OSU, and some others, no, but we'll be absolutely okay when the dotted lines are signed. Win 9-10 games including fsu and it's going to be a class we're all happy with. It's July, Mullen hasn't even coached a game yet. We know he's better than his recent predecessors at UF. I follow it closely as well and most recruits even think Sanders is a Gator, as well as others that many think are Gators as too
Mullen has everything on track and he ain't pretending. Recruits raving. The wins are coming and they'll be lining up to play for Coach kicks.
Pick your sad balls up of the floor and start acting like Gators again... The top ten to come down the road are national offensive and defensive rankings .. Be sure to enjoy the journey
I’m going outside to scream at the neighbors. Damn I’m ready for some gator football
Be careful ghost I said we may not be in the top 20 and got called out. I'm with you that it is looking like a stretch to be 14 or 15.
Your memory is bad. Auburn defense regressed the year he was there and has improved after he left. Doesnt mean he is a bad defensive coach, it just didn't happen at auburn.
Muschamp is irrelevant to current Gator recruiting anyway.
Don't let the goofy ass fluffers get to you. I think we can get to around 15 but it will be difficult. Need Sanders, Kimbrough, Elam, and probably a couple flips. I'm worried about Sanders though. I just feel like Bama has dropped a bag on him. If we don't get him then I think we finish closer to 20th.
The year before he got there Auburn gave up 35 ppg. Muschamp year they gave up 26 ppg. Now they did improve the year after but the goose egg they gave up to Alabama A&M probably helped matters. I agree it doesn't matter to Gator football but clearing that up.
Treys not going to Bama to compete with keilan Robinson. His commit last week helped UF tremendously .
These kids line up behind each other to play at Bama. Derrick Henry, Bo Scarborough, and Damien Harris were all spelling each other, and each of them were as highly touted as Sanders.
I hear you shane. If you aren't pumping sunshine around here, even after 4-7, they jump on you. This is a simple case of math. It won't add up to a top 15 (I'm skeptical of top 20 - and up through May I was predicting we'd finish around 12th)....much less a top 20. We're simply not on enough 4-stars radars for it to shake out. I think getting inside the top 20 will be a big accomplishment. The new early signing period has completely changed the landscape of recruiting. Hopefully a 8 win season, no blowouts, and positive momentum going into December will give us a push.
Robinson is a different type of RB; smaller, more of a '3rd down' back, not a typical bruiser that Alabama usually employs. I don't see that having any impact on any RB considering Alabama.
I can't disagree with that but trey has been to UF 5-6 times and he's likely THE ONLY RB we take this cycle...not to mention his family being in his ear about UF. Trey was a Bama commit several months ago then decommited. And has visited once since.
Yes, he is smaller but he's still 190. Both Bama and UF have 7 RBS on the roster. 247 CB says Bama 57% but I don't buy that. Bama was his last visit and typically CBs rise at that time.
Funny thing is I said we'd be outside the top 20 and a couple thought I was crazy.
Said if Sanders didn't commit soon we'd be in trouble and they thought I was crazy.
Sanders ain't scared of competition and Bama is gaining steam.
You are 100% right on. Bama can keep everyone happy and kids are willing to wait.
It’s the same story every year and somehow we sign a decent class. We will be in the teens again one way or another. Top 10 ain’t going to happen unless we win ten games and get some unexpected flips. But with ten wins I don’t think I’d call them unexpected.
Winning will do that. As I mentioned in another thread Bama has 7 RBS on the roster plus one commit. UF has 7 and zero commits and trey would most likely be the only RB we take.
