    THE STORYLINE
    • Florida can beat in-state rival Florida State in consecutive seasons for the first time since ripping off a six-game winning streak against the Seminoles from 2004-09. It can also finish with wins over Miami and Florida State for the first time since 2008, when it beat Miami, 26-3, in Gainesville, and topped Florida State, 45-15, in Tallahassee.

    • A win Saturday would give Florida a second straight 10-win season for the first time since posting 13 wins in both 2008 -- Dan Mullen’s final year as offensive coordinator -- and 2009.

    • A win would also make Mullen the first head coach in Gators history to win 10 games in each of his first two seasons.

    • UF can finish undefeated at home for the 14th time since 1990 and the third time since 2010 (7-0 in 2012; 5-0 in 2016).

    • Florida was ranked No. 10 in the initial College Football Playoff Rankings, but it’s been No. 11 the last two weeks. Last year, UF debuted at No. 11 and finished the regular season at No. 10, earning a Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl berth.

    • UF is still in a hunt for a second consecutive “New Year’s Six” bowl berth. The Gators can make consecutive marquee bowl appearances for the first time since 2008 (BCS National Championship Game) and 2009 (Sugar Bowl). Before last season’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl berth, UF made just one marquee bowl game from 2010-17 (2013 Sugar Bowl).

    • The Gators have been a top-10 team in 13 of the last 15 Associated Press Top 25 Polls (though their nine-poll streak -- their longest stretch since a run of 12 consecutive top-10 rankings from Week 5 of 2012 (Sept. 30) through the 2013 preseason rankings -- ended Nov. 10). From 2013-17, UF was in the top 10 just five times.

    • Florida has a chance to finish in the top 10 of the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2008 (No. 1) and 2009 (No. 3). UF ended last season ranked No. 7 in the final AP Top 25 Poll.

IN PERSPECTIVE: FLORIDA’S 180 IN OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
    • UF ranks 19th nationally in passing offense (292.3 yards per game), which is the first time in at least a decade it has thrown the ball that consistently. UF’s highest national finish in passing offense since the start of 2010 is 79th (in 2016), and it finished outside the top 100 in four of the nine seasons from 2010-18. UF finished 41st nationally in 2009.

    • Florida ranked 83rd in passing offense in 2018, and it is one of five teams in the last three years (Troy, 2018-19, No. 81 --> No. 12; Alabama, 2017-18, No. 91 --> No. 6; Old Dominion, 2017-18, No. 112 --> No. 15); UCF, 2016-17, No. 89 --> No. 10) to go from being outside the top 70 nationally in passing offense one season, then be top 20 nationally the next.

    • UF finished last season ranked 27th nationally in rushing offense (213.2 yards per game).

    • Florida is one of seven teams to be a top 30 rushing team in 2018 and a top 30 passing team in 2019 -- though UF, Memphis (No. 57), FAU (No. 64), and Wake Forest (No. 65) were the only four outside the top 40 in passing last year.

TRASK RESEMBLING GATORS QUARTERBACKS OF OLD
    • Since taking over Florida’s offense at the start of the fourth quarter at Kentucky, redshirt junior Kyle Trask is 179 of 269 (66.5%) for 2,253 yards and 20 touchdowns (plus three rushing touchdowns).

    • Trask has thrown for 21 touchdowns this year, making him one of 33 FBS quarterbacks with at least 20 -- but his 274 attempts are the sixth-fewest in that group (Others under 275 attempts: Layne Hatcher, Arkansas State [21 TDs, 221 attempts]; Tanner Morgan, Minnesota [26 TDs, 252 att.]; Justin Fields, Ohio State [33 TDs, 252 att.]; Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama [33 TDs, 252 att.]; Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma [30 TDs, 269 att.]).

    • Trask has thrown for 300-plus yards twice this year, amassing a career-high 363 yards against Vanderbilt, and 310 yards at then-No. 5 LSU. » Trask’s 363 yards were the highest total by a Gator since Tim Tebow’s 482 against No. 4 Cincinnati in the 2010 Sugar Bowl, and it was the highest total against an SEC team since Rex Grossman’s 375 against Kentucky back on Sept. 28, 2002.

    • Trask joined Tim Tebow (three in 2007) and Chris Leak (two in 2005; four in 2004) as the only Gators since the start of 2003 to post multiple 300-yard passing games in the same season. Trask is also the first Gator since Leak (three in 2004) to have two 300-yard outings against SEC opponents in the same season.

    • Since the start of the 2000 season, the only Gators to throw for 300-plus yards against a top-25 team are Trask (at No. 5 LSU), Tebow (2010 Sugar Bowl), and Rex Grossman (nine times from 2001-02). » Since the start of 2010, all other Gators have combined for three 300-yard passing games.

    • Trask threw three touchdowns at No. 5 LSU and followed it up with a career-high four touchdowns at South Carolina. He is the first Gator since Tim Tebow (2008 - at Vanderbilt and Florida State) to throw at least three touchdowns in consecutive road games. • Trask also became the first Gator since Rex Grossman (Nov. 3-10, 2001) to throw for three-plus touchdowns in consecutive outings against SEC teams.

    • Trask’s three touchdown passes at No. 5 LSU made him the first Gator since Tebow to throw at least three touchdowns on the road against an AP top-10 team (Tebow threw four Oct. 20, 2007 at No. 8 Kentucky).

    • Trask’s 310 yards were the second-highest total by a Gator in a road game since the start of the 2005 season, and only the fourth 300-yard passing game on the road or at a neutral site within that same span. » Tim Tebow - 482 yards vs. No. 4 Cincinnati - 2010 Sugar Bowl (Jan. 1, 2010); Chris Leak - 319 yards at Kentucky (Sept. 24, 2005); Tim Tebow - 304 yards at South Carolina (Nov. 10, 2007)

GATORS MAXIMIZING DEPTH IN RECEIVING CORPS
    • Florida, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Texas Tech, USC, and Washington State are the only FBS teams featuring at least four pass catchers with 425-plus yards, 30-plus receptions, and at least three touchdowns.

    • Seven Gators have multiple touchdown receptions this season, marking the first time since 2007 that many Gators had at least two touchdown receptions in a season. Ten Gators have at least one touchdown catch.

    • UF has eight different players with 150-plus receiving yards in a season for the first time since 1992.

    • The Gators are one of nine FBS teams with at least eight scrimmage plays of 60-plus yards, and their veteran receiving corps is responsible for six of those eight plays.

    • Josh Hammond has two -- 76-yard touchdown run at Kentucky; 65-yard reception to set up the winning touchdown versus Miami. Hammond is one of eight FBS players with a 65-yard run and reception this year.

    • Freddie Swain had a 64-yard touchdown reception en route to 146 yards on six catches against Auburn -- UF’s highest single-game total since Demarcus Robinson’s 216 yards on 15 catches versus Kentucky (Sept. 13, 2014).

    • UF also has seven 90-yard receiving games from five different Gators -- their most 90-yard outings in a season since 2007, when five Gators reached that total 11 times. It is the first time since 2017 (Tyrie Cleveland -- 93 against Tennessee, 110 against Kentucky) a Gator had two such outings in a season. » Trevon Grimes - 95 vs. Vanderbilt (Nov. 9) » Hammond - 93 [career high] vs. Miami (Aug. 24) » Van Jefferson - 94 vs. UT-Martin (Sept. 7); 93 at Kentucky (Sept. 14) » Kyle Pitts - 108 [career high] at No. 5 LSU (Oct. 12) » Swain - 146 vs. No. 7 Auburn (Oct. 5); 91 vs. Georgia (Nov. 2)

PITTS AMONG THE TOP TIGHT ENDS IN ALL OF FBS
    • Kyle Pitts is one of six FBS tight ends with five games of 60-plus receiving yards; he is one of three Gators tight ends since 1996 with five such games in a career (most is 8; Jordan Reed - 5).

    • Pitts is one of only four FBS tight ends with at least 45 catches, 500 yards and 5 touchdowns this season.

    • On the season, Pitts has 46 receptions, 566 receiving yards (both the most by a UF tight end since 2009 -- 68 receptions for 850 yards in 2012), and 5 touchdowns (the most by a UF tight end in a season since 2009); he entered 2019 with three catches for 73 yards and a touchdown in his career.

    • Pitts is one of 16 FBS tight ends to post a 100-yard game this season, and he became just the fourth Gators tight end since 1996 with a 100-yard game (the previous three combined for five 100-yard outings).

    GATORS PASSING WITH CONSISTENCY
    • Florida’s 3,215 passing yards are its highest total through 11 games since 2001, when it threw for 4,457 in the first 11 games. This year is also the first time since 2007 UF (2,910 yards) has over 2,500 yards through 11 games.

    • The Gators have six 300-yard passing games in a season for the first time since 2002 (also six times). Five have come against SEC opponents, marking the first time since 2001 (eight times) UF accomplished that.

    • UF has seven games of 300-plus passing yards -- with five against SEC teams -- in Mullen’s 24 games as head coach. In 101 games spanning the 2010-17 seasons, UF totaled six 300-yard outings (two against SEC teams).

    • UF has 13 games of 250-plus yards passing in 24 games under Mullen. It had 10 such games in the 38 games spanning the 2015-17 seasons, and nine such games in the 63 games spanning the 2010-14 seasons.

    • Since the start of the 1997 season, only these Gators (10 games), the 2001 Gators (all 12 games), the 2000 Gators (10), and the 1998 Gators (10) threw for 250-plus yards at least 10 times within a season.

    • In Baton Rouge last month, Florida threw four touchdown passes in a road game for the first time since Oct. 20, 2007, when it threw four at No. 8 Kentucky.

    • Florida had 250-plus passing yards in its first seven games this year, marking its longest streak of 250-yard outings since a 14-game stretch spanning the final game of 2000, all 12 games of 2001, and the 2002 opener.

    • UF threw for 300-plus yards in three straight games (312 vs. UT-Martin; 300 at Kentucky; 313 vs. Tennessee) for the first time since its final two games of 2002 and its 2003 opener. The last time Florida had a three-game streak within the same season was 2001, when it had 300-plus yards in all 12

    SPECIAL TEAMS MAKING SPECIAL IMPACT
    • Sophomore Evan McPherson, one of the 20 Lou Groza Award semifinalists last year, has made 12 of his 14 field goals this year (85.7 percent). Last year, McPherson ranked 6th nationally at 89.5 percent (17 of 19).

    • Since the start of last season, McPherson ranks fifth nationally in field goal percentage (29 of 33 / 87.9 percent) among FBS kickers with at least 30 attempts.

    • Senior Tommy Townsend -- a Ray Guy Award semifinalist for a second straight year -- has downed 20 of his 38 punts (52.6 percent) inside the 20-yard line this year; he downed 17 of 39 (43.6 percent) inside the 20 last year.

    • Senior Van Jefferson is one of Florida’s “gunners” on its punt team. In the Miami game, he downed a punt at Miami’s 5-yard line and recovered a muffed punt that set up a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter.

    • Senior receivers Tyrie Cleveland, Josh Hammond, and Freddie Swain also start on special teams.

    • “It’s something we stress so much within our team. Special teams is something we take a lot of pride in, we practice an awful lot.” --Dan Mullen after UF’s win over Miami.

    • Special teams coordinator Greg Knox has made an immediate impact with the Gators. Knox’s Mississippi State teams blocked 15 kicks or punts from 2014-17, which tied for the SEC lead and ranked 3rd nationally.

    GATORSPRESSURE CREATING CHAOS
    • Pressuring opponents into mistakes has been the calling card of Florida’s 2019 defense, and that statement is backed up by the Gators’ 22 takeaways, which rank tied for 9th nationally. And their 48 takeaways since the start of last year are tied for 4th among all FBS teams.

    • The Gators have forced four turnovers in three games this year (Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn). The last time they forced four-plus turnovers in at least three games within a season was 2014 (four games).

    • Florida is tied for 2nd in the FBS with 15 interceptions, but the Gators, Florida Atlantic, Oklahoma State, and Tennessee are the only FBS teams with at least three interceptions in three games this year (three apiece against Kentucky, Tennessee, and Auburn).

    • UF is one of four FBS teams featuring three players (Shawn Davis, Donovan Stiner, Marco Wilson) with at least three interceptions this year -- the other three teams are Alabama, San Jose State, and Virginia Tech.

    • Donovan Stiner leads UF with four interceptions -- which is tied for the SEC lead; he entered this season with two picks in 24 career games.

    • UF’s 38 sacks (one more than its 2018 season total -- and its highest total since tallying 41 in 2015) are tied for 5th in the FBS, while its 85 tackles for loss (one shy of last year’s 13-game total) rank tied for 12th nationally.

    • Jonathan Greenard is Florida’s top disrupter in its front seven, as he is tied for 2nd the SEC with 12 tackles for loss and is tied for 6th in the SEC in sacks (6.0) despite missing time with an ankle injury.

    • Greenard’s five tackles for loss (including two sacks) were UF’s highest single-game total since Alex Brown had five TFLs (all sacks) against Tennessee on Sept. 18, 1999.

    • Florida is the only SEC team featuring five players with at least 3.0 sacks, and another six Gators have 2.0 sacks this year -- Jonathan Greenard - 6.0; Zachary Carter , Mohamoud Diabate - 3.5; Jeremiah Moon, Jabari Zuniga - 3.0; Khris Bogle, Trey Dean III, James Houston IV, Ventrell Miller, David Reese II, Adam Shuler - 2.0.1 in top-10 matchups.

GOOD SITUATIONAL DEFENSE KEEPING SCORES LOW
    • The Gators are outscoring opponents 116-29 in the fourth quarter this year, and they are outscoring teams 220-69 in the second half (compared to their 136-87 edge in the first half).

    • A point of emphasis on defense from both Coach Mullen and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham has been red zone defense. UF is tied for 2nd in the FBS in that regard (64.3 percent / 18 scores in 28 trips).

    • UF is also 2nd in the FBS in opponent red zone touchdown percentage (35.7 percent / 10 TDs in 28 trips).

    • This has translated to Florida ranking 7th nationally in scoring defense (14.2 points), and UF has three shutouts in the same season for the first time since 1988 (Montana State, Indiana State, Mississippi State).

GATORS BREAKING OFF MONSTROUS RUNNING PLAYS

    • Florida has already set a single-season school record with three rushing plays of 75-plus yards this season. Previously, the 1982 Gators and 2008 Gators held the record with two such plays within a season.

    • Lamical Perine sealed Florida’s win over No. 7 Auburn with an 88-yard touchdown run -- which is the fifth-longest run in school history, the longest by a Gator since Emmitt Smith’s 96-yard touchdown run against Mississippi State on Sept. 24, 1988, and the 10th-longest rushing play by an FBS player this season.

    • The others were by Josh Hammond (76-yarder at Kentucky) and Dameon Pierce (75-yarder at South Carolina).

    • The Gators are one of eight FBS teams with three rushing plays of 70-plus yards.

GATORS HOLDING THEIR OWN AGAINST TOP-10 TEAMS
    • Florida is 4-3 against ranked opponents under Dan Mullen, which includes a 3-3 record against Associated Press top-10 teams -- since the start of last season, only UF, Alabama, and Ohio State (three apiece), and LSU (eight) have at least three wins over teams in the top 10 of the AP Poll at the time of kickoff.

    • Since the start of 2014, Mullen is 7-8 against top-10 teams, but four of those losses were to Alabama. Moreover, Mullen’s team was the underdog in 14 of those 15 games, with the exception being the 2014 Orange Bowl.

    • Last year, UF beat three ranked opponents (as well as multiple top-10 opponents) for the first time since 2012.

    • Since the start of the 2002 season, Florida is 15-8 in games when both it and its opponent are top-10 teams, and it is 5-4 since the start of the 2012 season. Prior to 2002, the Gators were 16-16-1 in top-10 matchups.

2018 OFFENSIVE UPTICKS CONTINUING IN 2019
    • Florida has 96 offensive touchdowns in 24 games under Mullen. In the 38 games composing the three seasons prior to Mullen’s arrival (2015-17), Florida scored 93 offensive touchdowns.

    • The Gators have 400-plus yards of total offense in 10 of their last 15 games, and 12 times in Mullen’s 23-game tenure as head coach. In 50 games from 2014-17, Florida had 14 games of 400-plus total yards.

    • UF has six games of 500-plus total yards in Mullen’s two seasons, matching their combined total from the 75 games spanning the 2012 through 2017 seasons.

    • Last year, the Gators posted their most games of 500-plus total yards (four), 400-plus total yards (six) and 350-plus total yards (10) since 2009, when they did it five, six, and 10 times, respectively.

    • One of Mullen’s points of emphasis has been rotation at various positions throughout the game--especially at running back--with the result being a fresher team in the fourth quarter. Florida averaged 6.23 yards per carry (884 yards on 141 carries) in fourth quarter last year, which ranked 8th in the FBS and led the SEC.

    • This season, Florida’s style of play has changed but it remains strong in the fourth quarter, as it ranks 19th nationally and leads the SEC in fourth-quarter passing yards (778).

    • Florida’s tempo increased in Mullen’s offense last season as well, as it had 32 touchdown drives under three minutes last season, its highest total since posting 40 in 2009. This year, UF has 26 such touchdown drives. UF combined for 27 sub-three-minute touchdown drives in 2016 and 2017, and just 22 in 2015.

    • UF also surpassed its combined totals from 2016 and 2017 totals for touchdowns of 30-plus yards last year. » 2019: 7 pass, 4 run; 2018: 9 pass, 6 run; 2016-17: 5 pass, 2 run; 2015: 10 pass, 0 run; 2014: 4 pass, 5 run; 2012-13: 6 pass, 6 run; 2011: 7 pass, 4 run; 2010: 3 pass, 4 run; 2009: 10 pass, 2 run; 2008: 9 pass, 8 run

    ADDITIONAL ACTIVE / HISTORICAL STREAKS
    • UF has scored in 396 consecutive games -- which is an NCAA record. The Gators broke Michigan’s record of 365 consecutive games (1984-2014) against LSU on Oct. 7, 2017.

    • Since 2008, Florida and Alabama are the only FBS teams that have not lost to a team which finished the season with a losing record. UF is one of four teams since 2013 to stave off such a loss (Alabama, LSU, Michigan).
