Wow! So many new names. It seems like there are more new guys this year than the last few years.

Excellent post, Thanks for the run down, IMO SS is up in the air for now, outfield is locked down as you posted it, the C & 3B combo for Brady is a fair assessment just not sure that Sully will want to have a steady variation in his line up but the team needs a steady fielder with a good arm behind the plate, could all come down to figuring out fielding v hitting at the catcher slot. Damn I love Gator Baseball

    For sure JJH!!!

Pitching in the Fall Games.........Who knows! LOL I think one school of thought is to line up your best and go battle it out. That would mean we would see several of our top notch guys on display. The other school of thought is to throw young guys straight into the fire and see how they react. The NOV 1 game will be interesting to see on both sides since it is an SEC East matchup. My hunch is USF will get a ton of good arms run at them.

I’m thinking Sully with approach the fall UGA game (as far as pitching goes) similar to the way he approaches regular season games vs SWAC and hold his front line rotation for when it counts—but that’s just me....

I would tend to agree with you 74 but I could also see Sully sending our weekend guys to send a message that last year was a fluke. Either way I am glad we have this type of game on the fall schedule!

As far as Edge goes it is hard to give an assessment. He may be dealing with some sort of injury. Plays OF but does not throw or hit. Not sure what is wrong but hard to give any report at this time

he isn't even doing easy tosses at this time, I am thinking shoulder issue, they are treating him like Nellie, the coaches and players have been yelling for runners to hold up making it pretty obvious he is not ready, hoping for a fix by January practices

    Catching?
From a defensive standpoint, who has caught the best? How would you ranking them as “catchers”?
Ranking them at throwing out base stealers? Who’s got the best arm?

Then, batting? Rank them at the plate? Who rakes?

Fabian sounds like he has made some big improvements at the plate.

Anybody know if P Hunter Ruth still with the team? Haven’t heard anything about him in any of these write-ups. I know he was shutdown last season so he could recover from an injury, but I thought he was pitching again in summer ball.

    Hunter Ruth transferred away inexplicably.

    Any one know why?

Don't know why, just know he did....could be one of many possibilities, but I'm going to guess the reason is between him and Sully.

May have to fake ‘em, to hold you over!

Latest intel: Nolan Fontana was seen at shortstop. Den Dekker made an appearance in the outfield - had a Willie May’s like catch for old times. Showing Fabian how he did it in his day!

Read the article on the Gator Baseball site—it’s great that former players that are retiring as professionals still hold their regard for the Gator Baseball program at a high level and want to return to give back.

Fontana and Den Dekker bring a lot to the table—our guys will benefit from their time around them—

Life is good in Gator Nation!

Not sure if anyone has told you but that #4 is going to be okay....... I think.
    Great info John.
Looks like Barco had the best day on the mound.
I'll be watching for the practice schedule post to see if I can make it back up.
    Thanks

    Spot on as usually JJH!

It has been a pretty good fall all the way around. Yes there have been mistakes made but all in all it is good baseball being played.

Saturday was a day of trash talk during the game and the players were loose and had fun with it. Sunday was positive day. Everything had to be said in a positive manner. Lang was great! He could be heard chirping at batters from LF saying "even though you missed, that was a great swing!" I think he will have that "C" on his chest this year. Pretty good way to break up a long fall.

    Is it Friday yet????
