Correct! For all incoming fall 2021 students.
Games will be played, and once players cross the lines they will be ready to play. We've seen other reopenings succeed. You have to adapt and adust on as you go. No excuse, be the leader.
First MLB player had to stop after "recovering" from Covid because it was discovered he now has a damaged heart...not sure its worth the entertainment and $$ if students athletes are going to have long term issues bc we want to someone toss a ball...
Virginia Tech DB Caleb Farley says concerns over program adhering to COVID-19 protocols led to opt out
There is a direct link to the full column he wrote within the above article. Just click on ‘he wrote’. Interesting read, he sounds like a fairly sharp guy.
Quoting from a previous article, Stricklin said...
"We want to conserve our resources as much as we can to make sure we continue to provide for our athletes," Stricklin said. "A lot of these pro athletes you see backing out of competition, they’re not going to get paid (their full salaries), right? All our athletes are getting their benefits whether we play games or not. They're going to get their scholarship, they’re going to get their cost of attendance cash and the things that we provide them on a normal basis whether we play games or not. That is our priority."
What remains to be seen, however, is what access to the team and facilities will the opted out players have? For KT, there is zero chance he is getting drafted this year if he opts out. If his goal is to make the NFL his best chance by far is to play and have a breakout season. If he wants to essentially take a redshirt, that may be fine but it also means he has to go to classes for another year and remain eligible.
Long term damage from COVID is no joke, so I will support the players whatever decision they make. There are things bigger than football. However, from a football perspective, Toney has not demonstrated the skills and production that would warrant a draft pick in the first four rounds. I certainly believe he can if he gets another season.
I don't watch baseball, who did this happen to?
When it comes to 4th or 5th year players that are not going to have a future in the NFL.... it probably would be a good idea to opt out and get another year of their education (masters degree) paid for, and they still could play next year if they chose.
Copeland also what?
Pair of Gators express potential interest in opting-out of the coming college football season
Love and support to all the Gator players opting out.
Yeah I would be careful if/when this vaccine is presented. At least research it yourself before blindly accepting it. Look into h.r. 6666, luciferase, etc. I hope we play football but the time is coming fellas. Iykyk
But but but they all came to get an education....right?!?!
If we win, I’m 100% counting it as legit. If anyone else wins, it’s definitely an asterisk championship.
Minnesota star WR Rashod Bateman opts out of 2020 college football season, will declare for NFL Draft
