One would imagine if you checked out 50,000 Americans in prisons at least a handful of them are innocent. But I guess they are Americans so it doesn't matter. It only matters if they are immigrants.

How many of them weren't given due process and were put there because somebody decided that their tattoos meant that they were a criminal? How many of those were then tortured and physically and sexually abused by their jailors without access to any form of due process to protect them?

They obviously needed to create more criminals to feed the base. People don't realize that it takes a ton of time and a LOT of money to go through the process. Just getting an L or E visa can be wrought with red tape and tons of $$$.

Why DACA recipients? One was stopped and arrested for driving with an expired license. He was one of the first to alligator alley and was just taken out of there to another prison. Why can't he post bail? Where is the due process?

from everything I have read the due process for illegals is different- they get a hearing but it is not your typical court hearing- while I am a big proponent of the Constitution- this is one time where I do not care if the hearing is a 5 minute wham bam thank you mam- they either came here illegally or their visa has expired, which means they are here illegally - boom they are gone

You aren't a big proponent of the Constitution, clearly. Regardless, do you think the government should have to prove that somebody is "illegal" or just claim it and you are good?

how long should it take to prove someone is an illegal alien- I think 30 days is more than sufficient- then poof they are gone

Who do they prove it to, specifically? As a reminder, this is because we transported a bunch of legal immigrants to a foreign gulag for them to be sexually and physically abused.

So it doesn’t sound like you can just walk in and start earning a paycheck. Sounds like you have to check in. Are we seeing lots of check-ins ?

I work for a couple who immigrated from Europe. They got in line and jumped through all the hoops. I suppose that colors my views on the matter.

Rutro… green card holders are getting ICE’d for a little bit of pot.

“A Texas Lyme-disease researcher who came to the U.S. from South Korea at age 5 and is a longtime legal permanent resident was detained at San Francisco International Airport for a week, according to his lawyer.

Kim has misdemeanor marijuana possession charges from 2011 on his record, but his lawyer questioned whether that was the kind of offense that would merit being held in a windowless room underneath the terminals at the airport for a week.

The spokesperson also said: “If a green card holder is convicted of a drug offense, violating their status, that person is issued a Notice to Appear and CBP coordinates detention space with [Immigration and Customs Enforcement].

Kim has a green card and has spent most of his life in the U.S. After helping out in his family’s doll-manufacturing business after the death of his father, he recently entered a doctoral program at Texas A&M and is helping to research a vaccine for Lyme disease.”

Scientist and green-card holder detained at SFO for more than a week, lawyer says

By the way, unrelated but related. The immigration crack down has had a large unforeseen consequence, animal shelters are bing overrun with pets.
I read an article on it, checked my local shelter and sure enough it’s as many pets as I’ve ever seen there.
So if you’ve been thinking about getting a pet, now would be a good time. It would help the shelters and of course the animals.

I am very surprised about what you posted here considering that millions of immigrants eat pets.

ICE needs to focus on these people being given CDLs for some crazy reason by lefty run states like CA. Besides being used to lower wages by crooked companies many are dangerous drivers used to that crazy driving in their own countries. CA gives them the credential but it results in deaths in FL.

the number is small and is usually because of a mistaken identify and is usually corrected quickly - those can be forgiven imnsho- and is going to continue to happen but the most important theing is we get the illegal aliens out of the country

How do you feel about Trump commenting that those in the agriculture and hospitality industries will be allowed to stay?

Do you feel like he was lying to you during the election, or that he conned you?

I'm also wondering why he's dropped the issue about illegal immigrants eating dog and cats. I'm wondering if he was just telling a lie about that in the first place. Do you have any insights on that?

For some reason Bill has yet to comment on Trump wanting those in the farming and hospitality to remain despite their immigration status

I won't guess to what's Bill's reason to deport every single undocumented immigrant, but it's been explained before how detrimental to the economy this would be. A recent Moody's forecast said the increased deportations could cause inflation to jump over 4% due to the massive labor shortages we'd incur. Keep in mind, this is just the inflation due to labor shortages, and tariffs would drive inflation even higher.

If we continued to deport 10% of the undocumented labor force every year, a Penn Wharton study concluded it would cause a decrease in GDP of 1% and depress wages because there would be less money flowing through the economy, meaning less people to need hourly wage workers at the grocery store, Walmart, restaurants, etc.

Then there's the personal tragedies of splitting families and causing more government subsidy dependence. In a blended family, if the undocumented immigrant is the main wage earner, and he/she is deported, but the rest of the family are citizens, the family will look to things like foodstamps to make ends meet.

What's the positive? Reagan realized that having hardworking immigrants working for low wages had a lot more positives than negatives. And that's why he gave out amnesty. It's time to revisit amnesty with some changes. It's better for everyone.
