Giving Trump and his sleazy sidekick Stephen Miller credit where credit is due holding immigrants whose only "crime" may be illegal presence in the US in detention facilities under conditions equivalent to those similar to the worst third world prisons has provided an incentive for self-deportation.

But are the conditions really worse than those in the worst third world prisons or is that just the theatrical talking points? I have no idea what 3rd world prisons are like and I have no idea if the cages that Obama packed people in are still being used.

Inhumane is enticing incredibly poor people who have nothing to lose to cross the border illegally. This gave the cartels and traffickers the chance to take advantage of millions of desperate people. We are still missing 100's of thousands of children. Taking away the rapid DNA test to protect children was truly evil.

People are definitely self-deporting. They risk losing the money, vehicles, furniture, and clothing they have collected here if they get busted. They are collecting the $1,000 from DHS and banking on potentially improving their future immigration options by leaving voluntarily.

So you should be advocating mass fines and jailing of employers of said people. Good luck with that.

Probably seen me mention this in numerous posts, but why aren't they pushing for the arrest of CEO's, construction managers and farmers?

Same. I think you have to be consistent with the application of the law.

Self deportation is nothing new. There have been more Mexicans returning to Mexico than entering the US for a decade. And only about 1 in 7 were because of deportations.

But overall undocumented numbers have remained stable because of immigrants from Venezuela and the Golden Triangle C. American countries. And for these people, after staying here and working for a few years, $1,000 and a free ticket home may make sense.

But we will see issues due to the incurring labor shortages. We've already seen record cherry prices this year and wholesale veggie prices jumped 38.9% in July. Part of that is likely tariffs, as about 1/3 of our food come from foreign countries this time of the year. But labor shortages also is likely playing a big part.

We're also seeing construction prices rising at around 3% every month. Again, likely a combo of tariffs and labor shortages.

It's all likely going to get worse before it gets better.

I may have been exaggerating but only slightly. A prime example is Alligator Alcatraz where the conditions are worse than virtually any real prison in the US in which individuals actually convicted of serious crimes are held.

    Right here
This might be true, but it is worth asking if you are different. Eg How many posts have you made accepting something that made Biden or Obama look good?

"That huge number of illegals that we made up? Well, some of them up and self-deported all by themselves. Mission Accomplished!"

    "May we see the data?"

    "No"
