I have heard of him. Your descriptive in your post gives pretty much everything I had heard about him though.

I read somewhere that Dalkowski was "double jointed" and that help with his velocity.

Well I am double jointed in my fingers and can bend my wrist and elbow well beyond the normal range. I couldn't play basketball on asphalt because my knees were "loose" and took a pounding. I probably had very loose joints everywhere and maybe that is why I could throw pretty hard. I probably had a few more degrees of motion adding up the velocity of the pitch.

Funny thing is that I never dislocated anything.

I think you would need a combination of overwhelming power and movement to be “unhittable” and Randy Johnsom is the first one that comes to mind.

Also need to define what “unhittable” means. Greg Maddux was “hittable” because he induced a lot of ground balls and pop ups. You simply were not gonna get many actual base hits off him.

And Greg had an ever widening strike zone as the game wore on.

Thinking about Waldrep and his recent MLB success with his splitter I looked up some YouTube of Bruce Sutter's splitter. OMG. What a pitch.

We should do a poll on best relievers ever.

You’re going to need to split it between the one inning relievers and the plus innings relievers or it will just be a constant argument.

The Sandman and Goose were two very different legends.

I agree. Wilhelm, Goose, Eckersley, Fingers are all on the list.
I’m sure regardless of how many we name inevitably somebody that’s deserving of a mention gets left off.
