You always love to post "fact checks" but in the past I've proven the "fact checkers" were wrong on many, many occasions yet you still post them without ever thinking they could also be extremely biased. Not talking about this "fact check" exactly, but you've had a history of doing this and I've called you out in the past and you pretty much ignore it every time. Interesting...

Interesting that TACOman didn't say a word about DC criminal issues until his "doggie" employee was smacked around.

Did you read the article? They lay out their specific case.

“The first clip, which is 41 seconds long, has been more widely shared online than the second clip, which is 1 minute and 28 seconds long. The subcommittee described the longer clip as "the full video" on X.”

"There's not a question of how they — they don't know. They clearly didn't know, and I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more," Pelosi said.

This is where the 41-second clip ends.

In the longer clip, Pelosi continues, "Because it’s stupid that we should be in a situation like this. Because they thought they had what? They thought these people would act civilized? They thought these people gave a damn? What is it that is missing here, in terms of anticipation? They give us a piece of paper. It says, ‘Walk through the tunnel, don’t walk outside.’ That’s our preparation for what’s going on?"

Neither a good thing or a bad thing. Tracking devices to locate stolen cars are not new. Ever hear about Lojack? It was invented decades ago. Air tags are much more affordable than a Lojack system and do not require professional installation. Do you think ring doorbells are an indication that the crime rate is high in a neighborhood in which they are installed by a lot of homeowners?

Oh I read it. Just don't agree with their take. Plus, "fact checkers" have been proven wrong so many times it's not even funny yet others just trot them out there like it's the end all be all. The bias these supposed "fact checkers" show is embarrassing, especially during covid.

LOL. So your take is it's not a big deal. Got it. See, I think most people don't want to have to put an air tag in their car because of crime being so bad, but you think it's not a good thing or a bad thing lol.

These are the US cities with the highest violent crime rates. DC isn't even on the list. Although Trump's decision to deploy National Guard troops in DC and to use federal law enforcement officers for local enforcement in DC is obviously a political stunt it may still be effective considering that there are neighborhoods in DC where crime is a serious problem and the opposition to the stunt by Democratic politicians reinforces the narrative that Dems are soft on crime.

The homicide rate in DC is 4th worst in the US. Care to revise your statement?

The homicide rate in the nation’s capital was the fourth highest among 24 U.S. cities in 2024, according to a report by the Center for Public Safety Initiatives at Rochester Institute of Technology that relied on local news reports and individual agency data. The three cities with higher rates than Washington were St. Louis, New Orleans and Detroit.

True but it also declined by over 30% from 2023 to 2024 and the homicide rates for St. Louis, New Orleans and Detroit are all significantly higher than the rate for DC. Also the overwhelming majority of homicides in DC are confined to a few neighborhoods. Not dismissing the seriousness of the problem but Trump's deployment of federal assets especially the National Guard is focused as more on their visibility than on where they may really be needed. While the President has unique authority with respect to DC that he doesn't have in other cities or states if the homicide rate is the most important metric he should have focused on St. Louis or New Orleans.

LOL. Saw this today and it reminds of your post here. The "right, DC is 4th worst in the country, but their rate dropped" is some take.

FYI, for those that are not aware this what the DC Mayor said after one of the DC council member was arrested last year:

“If we are talking about offices that are focused on keeping people out of harm’s way, preventing violence, especially with our focus on alternatives to law enforcement strategies, which we’re very committed to, this also puts those very effective strategies at risk,” she said. “So, individual decisions and people will make some good ones, some terrible ones. But they have to be held accountable.”

This is one of the things that is causing issues in DC since a lot of DC youths are not being held accountable. Here is a DC resident saying that on MSNBC:

Representing a satirical piece from the Babylon Bee is serious analysis. Who would have thought and it still doesn't hide the fact that what Trump is doing in DC is primarily intended to deflect from the Epstein situation. That being said Democratic politicians should be very careful about criticizing the decision since Trump and the Pubs could use their criticism to paint them soft on crime.

How is it even a debate any longer as to whether or not Trump could have sent support to the Capitol on Jan 6th? He just unilaterally took over DC and sent federal agents with no pressing emergency whatsoever. This action just ended any defense for Trump permanently.

"paint them as soft on crime"? Dems are soft on crime. That isn't a debate. It's just that you agree with them is all.
