(VB) Ongoing Volleyball Thread 2025

Milica Vidacic is the only player listed as OPP. Who do you think will join her there?
I think Stuckey is the setter.
Look for Bella and Lily to get a lot of looks at L. Lily was outstanding on the U20 team, but let's see how that translates to tougher competition.
The Gator Attack Board of Directors has been invited to a scrimmage tomorrow.
I will try to post some insights if there are no restrictions.

A interesting new way to authenticate entry into UF sporting events. I guess we will how it goes with this fall’s sporting events.

 

Any update on Dave Boos?

Coach Boos was a great guy. I just Google'd his name and found an announcement that he is head volleyball coach at Ball State. Good for him!

Then I looked at the picture with the announcement and it didn't look anything like Coach Boos. But how many "Dave Boos" could there be in volleyball?

Then I looked at the date of the announcement and figured out that Ball State is where he was BEFORE he came to UF. lol

I hope he landed well.

 

The Gator Attack Club board of directors attended practice today, where they matched the ballgirls with their players.
We watched drills and a scrimmage between the divided teams in preparation for Sunday's Intrasquad.

The team seems stronger than in years past. The ball was hit with more velocity and accuracy than we have seen.
Our new Serbian teammate is the real deal. She has a very live arm, and can attack very strongly.
Also, her serve has a lot of movement. We served short many times today, as that was our Achilles' Heel last year. The defense adjusted to this well most of the time.
Stuckey and Kira did not participate in the practice. From what I gather, they are both every other day practicers.
The players we have added are going to be significant contributors.
The Serbian we have added will be a very pleasant surprise. She is like an incoming Junior. She has a very live arm, and her serve has a lot of movement.
The other newcomers are also great additions.
I am excited about this season.
