He was not blindsided. By definition his blind side is the left side. He just chose to immediately look to where he wanted to throw and never bothered to check anything else.

It's humiliating to me that we've had 3 Heisman QB's but show little or no QB success in the NFL over 100+ years.
Meanwhile, our most hated rivals Georgia, Miami and Alabama have had guys fill up the record books with theirs.

 

It quite surprising the Gators have no elite NFL QBs. But we do have the NFL’s all time leading rusher.

 

Tebow was ahead of his time tbh. Back then a running QB was more of a death sentence unless your name was Vick. If we would have gotten drafted in these past 5 years he’d be a starter right now strictly on his ability to run.

 

If that were true Jalen Milroe would have been taken #1 overall and starting right now. NFL QB’s have to be accurate that’s never going away. Tebow would have the same career now as he did back then. He didn’t throw the football well enough. NFL defenses can stop a running QB when they can’t throw.

 

Tebow was a very different and unusual NFL QB. The NFL is a copy cat league that doesn’t like different. Combine that with his massive popularity which brought on huge pressure to play him. That combination killed his chances in my opinion.

I wished he had played CFL or Arena League- he would have dominated and been a lot of fun to watch- and they would have embraced his popularity instead of fearing it.

 

Milroe was nowhere near as good as Tebow was. Tebow threw the ball just fine until the QB gurus said you have to throw the ball a certain way in the NFL and changed his throwing motion. Literally everything Mahomes gets praised for now, Tebow was knocked for. I’m not saying he’d be a hall of famer, he would have just been better suited in today’s NFL.

 

I love AR, but let’s be real here; a lot of things were overlooked with the Colts selecting him that high. That’s why they’re the Colts

 

I watched it several times and think the tackle was fine but I’m old school.

 

If that was Terry Bradshaw, it not even discussed. You can hardly look at a qbs head area now. Its kind of a textbook tackle and a penalty all at the same time. Its hard to tackle a qb without getting a penalty.

 

I'm old-school too. A lot of the targeting calls I see are ridiculous (butt targeting, anyone ). I'm just trying to interpret what was on video by the "new" rules.

 

Well he has to lower his head or it becomes a helmet to helmet sack, targeting. If you look at the video again as he made contact he released and didn't put any weight on AR.

Here's a good synopsis of the play:



Look at the 2:00 mark over the next 19 seconds. At the end of the play, he releases AR and lands away from AR. That's about the best tackle a defender can make without putting all of his weight on the other player. If he hits high = targeting. If he hits low, illegal tackle below the knees. If he targets AR's waist, that also can be ruled targeting because you are more likely to tackle with the crown of your helmet. The strike zone on a QB is smaller than the strike zone is baseball.

Now go read the comments. 99% of them say AR didn't set protection and shutdown half the field. Brady was the master of seeing the whole field, it was rare any player was able to hit him like this. AR isn't ready for the NFL and proof is the same play S Sanders made for his first TD. He rolled left and bought himself more time and unloaded. There were 4 or 5 other plays that you can tell he is far better now than AR. His ability to see the field and the sides is remarkable for a rookie. His scrambling ability is probably 2 times better than AR. AR is fast on a straight line, but his ability to cut is very limited. He's also slow to start, meaning it takes a few seconds for his motor to hit the high gear.

He has all the intangibles you want in a QB................. except accuracy.

 

And quickly reading defenses and getting the ball out in under 2secs to the proper receiver

 

It was 100% on Richardson. It is his job to see the defense and know where the pressure will come from. He just ignored it and looked only where he wanted to throw it (as he has since high school). He has all the tangibles and seemingly none of the intangibles.

 

Really unfortunate because we didn’t see any accuracy problems in the few snaps with Mullen. We were sure we had one.

Yeah but that wasn’t accuracy that was a freshman making a couple bad reads. The accuracy actually looked good. Something happened in his head.

 

He always had a decent deep ball but cant read shit. Defenses figured it out pretty quick.
