Well, if either of those two aren't available for Kendra to draft, then they would be helping her pick their opposing team. Not saying they wouldn't give her general advice on how to go about it....but specifics...possibly not. Generally speaking, everyone always goes for the best available pitching in the first round and possibly the second. Except Amanda. She always chooses Hannah Flippen as her first pick. A couple years ago Cat Osterman always chose Jordan Roberts. Probably not the first round but Cat always wanted her as her catcher.
And some more great news for the Gators and Kendra - she will be the grad assistant next year coaching first base! She can handle being a captain as she is very smart and confident.
Surprised they let you reveal that. If you recall, we knew about Erin for several months but were sworn to secrecy.
Yes, she is still listed as being on the roster. However, as we all know, it’s all up to CTW. My main concern last year was that she was not as visible to the fans and alumni as Charla and Amanda were.
I understand she will be back. Her lack of visibility was curious to me, also. She must have spent most of her time in the batting cage, as she tore through AUSL pitching. From all accounts, she is also a super person.
I was told this by her Mom and Dad at the game on Sunday. They are hyped about getting to come back to watch more FL SB. They did not say to keep it quiet, as I asked, so hence the post.
Curious for me too. But she wasn't there to be a dead weight and isn't coming back for a second year to be a dead weight. She is doing something for the team. We just, as usual, don't know what it is. They have mentioned on AUSL that she worked on her hitting a lot at UF which may explain why she has been tearing up that league. Still doesn't say what her team duties are and she has far too much experience and talent not to be a valuable resource.
lol...Kendra and her parents aren't what you need to worry about. Tim may make you increase your donation.
Kendra lucked out. Today's last games of the first series were rained out. She finished fifth. No captain for her. My comment wasn't meant to be derogatory. She is smart. Confident and capable. To be a captain and all of that going with it isn't something she needs after only a couple pro games playing with people who have been around for years like Amanda, Flippen, etc. Aleshia was asked a couple days ago about being a captain and she said it is really hard and time consuming. Pressure to pick the best team. She said she stayed up until 2 in the morning trying to figure out what to do for a roster and how to handle it once she got it. Kendra just doesn't need that at this point. Let her play to her ability.
Great for Dani. The reality is that except for a small handful, there is no future in softball. These ladies need to find a career path that they love and pursue it. Thanks for the post!!
OK. I'm stretching the dead brain cells here. Wasn't she a pitcher for us in 2020 who got little action and then transferred to, I think and am probably wrong, Troy? Is she back at UF in some capacity? If I remember correctly, when she signed she posted a photo of her and a horse (which makes sense given the above) and that poor horse was hanging its head in shame having to stand next to her in a photo. Wowza.
