Just got around to watching the SEC Tournament Championship again...

A few weeks into the season, it became apparent that the Gators were never out of a game. You knew we would make a push to get back into it. Halftime adjustments, depth, and rebounding. And guys with determination.

 

Yeah, that was one of the few games where we simply weren't invested in the game for the first half. We had manhandled them in Gainesville so the guys were expecting a cakewalk. Gotta be ready each game.

 

I think last year's NC team is right up there with the 1996 FB NC team and the 2007 Bb NC team. I know they didn’t win the regular season SEC title. But the way they won their last 14 or 16 games (I lost count) then win the NT game was very impressive.

 

I went to eat at a burger bar while visiting our place in St Augustine on the day of the SECCG. Scrupulously avoiding watching the game, we had been at the Outlet Mall and I was doing the 'stand and wait for the Mrs' thing in many stores and had no idea what was going on as it wasn't far enough into the 2d half to allow me to check the score. We walked in the restaurant about halfway into the 2d half and we were up by 9. I thought that was good, then chose a seat at our table that faced AWAY from any of the many TVs on the wall. While we were eating my MIL's husband looking over my shoulder says "Well, it's getting interesting." so I turned to see the Vols were within 5 with about 8 minutes to go. Ugh. Have to REALLY ignore the game to give our guys a chance. Finally checked again at the under 3 minute mark and saw an 11 point spread and felt pretty good that I had done my duty to the best of my ability and the team did the rest.
