Obviously we shouldn't be surprised by such alleged violations from a national Republican rep. Perhaps we should just be glad that it didn't involve a minor?

Note; and this involves the mistress of a married man. Shocking.

GOP Rep. Cory Mills accused by ex-girlfriend of threatening to release sexually explicit images, videos of her

An ex-girlfriend of GOP Rep. Cory Mills is accusing the Florida congressman of having threatened to release sexually explicit images and videos of her after their relationship ended, according to a police report obtained by CNN.

In screenshots of messages Langston said she exchanged with Mills, an account under Mills’ name is repeatedly shown saying he would share with an unidentified man videos he had of her. Similar comments are made in text conversations, with a number Langston said belonged to Mills.

Langston shared the exchanges with investigators, and CNN reviewed copies of the screenshots, which don’t include the entire conversations.

First. He is disgusting and I hope he gets his. Evil personified if true

Now, Isn't this where we go off topic and call you a hypocrite for voting for a Clinton at any time in your life? (Pretty sure they silenced a few sexual victims in their day.)

But you actually made it on topic by saying we "shouldn't be surprised" that it's a "National Republican"

I am just challenging your OP with a topical counter argument.

This thread is about sextortion done by a powerful politician. I don't think Clinton is guilty of that.

That's sorta my point. Jo has been known to bring up my vote from 2016. But if you are going to insinuate that only Republicans do it, then a counter argument is actually on topic

Though, sex crime or no, if the Pubs need that vote, they'll delay removal. Exactly what they did with Santos. There is no shame to be witnessed at all.

Yeah, but the Trumppublican Party will first try to protect him by ensuring that there are no legitimate legal inquiries into the conduct of this admitted adulterer. And they'll ignore the issue in the meantime. And if he is found to have behaved unethically or committed crimes ...... they'll just ignore it.

Our resident Trumpy posters will do the same. There's a well-documented history of it. They may even end up voting this guy for President.

Republicans quietly fret about ‘disturbing’ Cory Mills allegations
So long as national party operatives view the Florida lawmaker’s seat as safe, there is little incentive for GOP leaders to engage

So far, the drumbeat of tawdry allegations has raised eyebrows in Washington, but it has not translated into any overt effort to sideline the two-term Florida Republican.

GOP leaders in the House and in his home state appear to be betting that Mills’ various messes will sort themselves out without blowing back on the party more broadly — and potentially threatening its hold on power.
