I think it is a good move for Dez. He isn't being cut, and treating it as a medical issue gets him the support he needs to get back on the field.

Every one on this forum saw this coming (and I'm sure everyone else too). I feel bad for Dez. He seems like a good guy, but his food addiction is going to rob him of a potential career and possibly many years of life if he doesn't get it under control.

Take zepbound. He can afford it, I lost 50lb of fat in 2.5 months pretty easily. You don’t think about food, like at all. It was actually a struggle to eat my daily protein. Get down to a manageable 375 or whatever and drop the dose. I don’t understand how this isn’t a thing that has been solved yet. He is a professional football player, getting paid to play football and to prepare to play football.

Better late than never. It's being addressed now so we can be happy and thankful for that.

"It's just about trying to get him better, to be a healthier player and getting him on the field a little more," head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Wednesday.

"That's kind of where I'm at right now. He's working at it, and we're working with him. And that's all you can ask right now."

I hope he does something. He has had access to superior medical and athletic guidance. He even had economic incentives. He blew by all of it. He has no time left on the clock. 350 and he makes the team. 450 is just a precursor to him totally losing control over his body..and 600#.

Big Dez needs to look at this as his last Big Chance. Love this guy, but, he needs to take full advantage of this opportunity or things could go sideways for him with his health, wealth and happiness. I'm pulling for him.

Guy seems to need around the clock medical care to get this thing under control. Feel really bad for him. I can’t help but think diabetes is a major threat.

As someone who as been overweight most of my life, there is usually something that he is struggling with emotionally that he either won’t or can’t address. That is the case most of the time. Drugs, alcohol, food, sex, all are things that people use to cope. I’m praying for this young man, that he will see the support and help and take advantage of it before this takes his life. I’m down 77lbs since January and have 100 to go. My 15 and 13 year old daughters are my driving force. I have to live for them.

Gastric sleeve the better option. No rerouting of digestive plumbing. Just a reduction in sizzle of stomach by about 85%. I lost 120 lbs. surgical removal of that part of the stomach also eliminates production of the hunger hormone gretilan. Claim was production of gretilan would be eliminated for up to 6 months thereby giving you a big window to loose weight. In my case, it never came back. It’s been 8 years and if I am outside working on a yard project as long as I hydrate I can go all day without eating. It’s only when my blood sugar drops that I feel a sensation of weakness and then grt some food. Big Dez needs this now. Should have been done two years ago at UF. But they could not afford to loose him for a season. Shame!!
