Banks - potential high draft choice, tons of experience Lyons - who knows? He hasn't played since 2023, but looked improved late in that season. Can he return to pre-injury form quickly? Boireau - showed flashes in 2024 in limited action, but so far just a guy Brien Taylor - so far just guy Brendan Bett - ditto as Lyons, hasn't played since 2023. This could be a good group, but we won't know until we see them on the field this Fall. If Banks goes down we could potentially be in deep doo-doo. The above along with our inexplicably poor DT recruiting for 2026 is causing Gator fans to lose sleep.
i’m higher on the DT’s than most but i def understand the caution. Losing Robinson to the portal hurt cause he def was one that came on strong. One thing for sure though, if any lf the true freshmen show they’re ready, they’re going to play which i like
That only works if you can separate space from time in a space/time universe. Otherwise, both are essentially measurements of time. However, only one has the added dimension of space.
I would add that we also have Tarvaris Brown 6'6 296 and the two freshmen Jeremiah McCloud 6'3 294 Joseph Matochou 6'3 294
By how explosive Lyons has looked in drills it's hard for me believe he won't be an impact guy. I am more worried about losing Bureau. He is our only real NT. If Banks were out, Lyons is explosive enough to start at DT and Bett back him up. If Bureau is out, we just have a bunch of guys trying to hang on in the middle. Then Lyons would be the most important guy in the middle.
As long as he doesn't invite our defense to a party before an important game, they should be okay. No parties before important games...
