I agree. Thinking about it, it's amazing any player can stay healthy. College football is crazy violent.
He was immobile and really struggled with interceptions his entire career. He could make some throws but he was beaten out by Del Rio as a grad senior....says it all
Appleby as a grad senior vs Warner forced onto the field as a rs freshman vs UGA and at Texas.....gee, there's a great comparison. Appleby was what he was, Imo Warner has a better upside....needs to improve his arm strength
I thought both of them were good backups. Unfortunately we were using them as starters. Del Rio always seemed to have it between the ears, just didn't have the other stuff. The other stuff is kind of important though.
Totally agree....both reasonable options as a backup although totally different players. Warner probably a nice Del Rio comparison, smart kids that aren't big physical threats
Then you have the Marshall faulk type that was 155 when he played his first game. He came in the second half because all three guys in front were injured. I think he came close to 200 in the second half. Played several years in the nfl at maybe 200 and was seldom unavailable.
So he went from Das Boot to Aus Boot then? Seems like it was just a calf sprain that they were being cautious with.
What? I saw some dopes a day or two ago speculating it was an achilles injury. Is the world not really ending?
I, for one, am glad we have Aidan Warner on our roster. Not sure he will beat out Harrison Bailey for the #2 QB spot, but he has enough talent and heart to be a good 3rd option at this point in his career. He was thrown into the fire under chaotic and unexpected circumstances but played pretty good. I don’t put the Texas debacle on him. That was a total team breakdown.
