Game 1 was postponed in the beginning of the bottom of the sixth after a weather delay due to rain. Game 1 will continue tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET with the Talons still up, 3-1. Game 2 will follow at 2 E.T.
I watched Leah throw her inning. Three up, three down, she had two infield groundouts and she struck out the third batter on a full count change up.
I'll throw in some more about Leah. Watched it tonight after taping it last night. Very impressive inning. 1-2-3. Weak grounder to first. Fairly hard hit ball to third on a play made by the third baseman. She had an extremely nice mix of pitches. Several wicked rise balls. A nice curve to a right hander that just missed off the outside corner. And what I liked the most is she mixed in several nice off speed pitches...what looked like a drop with a very nice break and, as Phil said, a wicked straight change that completely fooled the batter for a called third strike to end the inning. I was hoping we got one that everyone missed and I saw nothing from her performance to make me think otherwise.
Thank you Phil. Are you coming to any of the Fall games? I am very excited about her and can't wait to see her this fall.
I’m trying to see how it all fits in with volleyball. If a volleyball game and a football game fall together, there is a good chance that my brother and I will be there.
After this interview, I am a top fan of hers. In February when she first signed and I read her story I became a fan, but after this interview and watching her in the PFG All-Star game, I am a top fan. Folks, I think we really do have a good pitching staff now. Adding Leah and Allison to the pitching staff have solidified what was already an excellent staff with Keagan, Katelynn(Red), Ava and Liv.
Great interview, articulate and impressive young lady. Hope she can be a winner against our competition.
I finally got around to watching the whole interview. I don't care what she ever does on the field. That is an elite level young woman.

Katie's mom told me that in her final year, when Katie was pitching well, it was the first time she was healthy while at UF.
