I have always been a space enthusiast and I saw the satellite Voyager mentioned on a rerun of the The Big Bang Theory last night. It got me thinking about it and if the satellites are still in communication with NASA. So I looked it up. Pretty amazing they have both left the solar system and are exploring the galaxy. They are traveling at speeds of over 34,000 mph. Where Are Voyager 1 and 2 Now? - NASA Science I just found it interesting.
Four days before Voyager 2 was launched, Elvis died. Twelve days after Voyager 1 was launched, Cris Collinsworth threw a 99 yard touchdown pass in his first game as a Gator. A year after Voyager 2 passed Neptune and completed the planetary missions of the Voyagers, Steve Spurrier returned to coach the Gators. Danny Wuerffel was three years old when the probes were launched. Tim Tebow was born when Voyager 2 was between Uranus and Neptune. Most people alive today were not born yet when those probes were launched.
