Ugly and stupid comment.

 

And, after making the comment she apologized…… and liberals fall in line with the “everything is fine”, “she’s protected by the first amendment” …. and other irrational nonsense.

 

I'm trying to more closely follow the renewed effort for people to stay on topic.

So this is not snark, but an honest question: what is the best way to say that these comments don't offend me much, given that they're about a group who is literally led by a lying, racist hate-monger. Also, what did adherents of that person and his philosophy expect would happen after seeing him so strongly supported?

To me, this thread is just the standard hypocrisy we've seen the last 9-10 years where the right expects to be treated better than how they treat people.

Again, I'm not trying to be off-topic. I think my comments and questions here are pretty relevant. I'm open to guidance.

 

It takes accountability to avoid being a hypocrite. We can't not account for it just because "they don't." Lead by example; hold our leaders accountable when it's within our scope of control. Just my two bits.

I hear you. You make good points. I'm not saying i know everything or have all the answers. For me it's a struggle.

I struggle with the obvious double standard- in this case over vile comments. I'm not trying to take things "off-topic", but it's total hypocrisy.

I'm open to guidance on how to deal with it. Just "be better" and pretend that the politics and actions of the leader OP supports aren't glaringly hypocritical? I'm all ears.

 

Excellent point and I know I fail to exercise the level of objectivity and fairness you point out, quite often.

She said something stupid, took ownership of it and apologized for it. Why shouldn’t that be the end of it when so many public officials say offensive things without taking responsibility and aren’t asked to resign?

 

Hypocrisy resides in all of us in some degree.

She doesn’t like Hogan because she considered him hateful yet uses hateful words to describe her feelings towards his death.

Probably the same reason no one demanded Randy Fine resign for calling a congresswoman a terrorist. Honestly the Democrats would probably boost their approval by being more like Republicans and refusing to apologize and gaslighting, it seems thats what their voters want, and voters in general. The approval is low because even Democratic voters think they are spineless weenies who back down from any fight. There are certainly better ways to fight than posting on Facebook, but things like this have visceral appeal at least for stupid people. Hulk Hogan was a self-serving piece of shit , more people should say it.

My issue is I doubt most apologies are sincere. I’d bet hers isn’t.

I’ve mentioned before that I’d rather know peoples opinions so I can decide for myself if I want to associate with them, vote for them, support them, etc. Even frequent their business if they own one.

It’s good her thoughts are exposed so the voters can decide next election to support her of not.

 

At one point there was a baseline of decorum, behavior, and morals that was expected of all party leaders. We have devolved to attacking and defending solely on the basis of partisanship.

They have us right where they want us... We are fighting each other instead of collectively holding them all accountable.

She should be censured for being stupid on social media, but resigning is overkill.
