Me asking was the hint .. 4 years 90-94. Never made Show In 1990 he was only non Gator All SEC P ( John Burke/Marc Valdes)
nope, but did you hear he fell out of a tree stand last week or so ago? broke a couple vertebrae, concussion, but was back calling Os games over weekend.
Close enough..lol I doubt anyone would get t w/out looking.. John Powell 602 Ks in 477 innings.. Will never be broken.
Wow, what a career. How high did he make it in the pros! I was at UF in 90, last year so I remember they had a stud. Could remember his name and had no clue he is NCAA career strike out leader of all time.
Yogi once said "I always thought that record would stand until it was broken." I think the safest MLB record is career steals of home. Ty Cobb with 54. Next in line is Nolan Ryan with 7 no-nos.
He was also Baseball Americas P of Year in 93. Only a 9th round pick in 94(Rangers) Made Triple A but for only 1 game. lol.. 3.84 ERA in 5 years, mostly A/AA
Cleveland recently changed their name from the Indians to the Guardians. Before they were the Indians they had many names. Name two. Added in edit: I knew two of the names before I Googled it and found more than two.
Guys just dont throw enough innings in college anymore.. And if did & putting up those K numbers wouldnt last 3-4 years. The Hal Baird splitter was tough to handle, he taught it to a guy name Tim Hudson couple years later. you might get a mid major guy get close over 4 years, but doubt it. Completely agree on Cobb and Ryan.
I cheated and looked,, but no that was 1971. Dave McNally (21-5) Mike Cuellar (20-9) Jim Palmer (20-9) Pat Dobson (20-8) Only 2 in 69, Cuellar & McNally
Random / strange Jim Palmer factoid... The man has never eaten a chicken wing. And no hes not a vegetarian & does eat chicken.. Just not the wing..lol He mentioned this on air one night w/ Ben McDonald. You can imagine Bens reaction
