He critiqed someone's music; I critiqued his--not him. And I didn't say his music was so awful that it'd make me want to drive a pencil through my eardrum. Just that it sucks out loud. Im sure it sounds just fine, on mute.

What exactly is a 'boy band?' I've heard the Beatles described as that by haters. I think the closest thing to a "boy band" I've liked in the popular understanding is Boyz II Men or Bell Biv Devoe when I was in middle school. With EVH, I was just kind of playing the hater game that's been played on this thread. Van Halen was never my taste, but he's obviously an accomplished guitarist. I really dig Santana, and I've sort of grown to like 70s jazz fusion stuff, which has surprised me . But that nonsense with Rob Thomas I will pretend didnt happen.

Rob Thomas sung one song with Carlos. Admittedly played into the dirt, but it was pretty solid when it was fresh, and the main riff is still excellent. But at least we agree on Carlitos over all.
