That is not what I'm saying. I concur that this renaming is stupid. I also agree that other renamings have been stupid.

By the way, the issue over forts was ostensibly not because of slave ownership, as you just suggested, but because said officers had served the rebellious side during the Civil War. You open an entirely new can of worms if you expand the issue to slave ownership back when was slave ownership was -- regrettably but factually -- a lawful norm worldwide, stretching back to before recorded history. Even during the Civil War itself, many slave owners remained loyal to the United States, including military officers, legislators from the border states, and members of the Supreme Court. They also willingly if unhappily submitted to emancipation when that became the law of the land. I was under the impression that we were not putting people such as them in the same category as those who took up arms against the United States.

 

Medical technology has improved tremendously and I’m glad to be alive in this age, but it does come with an increased number of side effects. Remember back in 2018 when Melania was hospitalized and treated for a benign kidney disorder? The procedure made her boobs grow, so we need to be aware of side effects.

 

Does nude modeling count as being a supporter of the arts?

 

Should be a minimum intelligence standard to be allowed to vote. Or a maximum drooling standard, in the case of Trump fans.
