Gainesville increasing taxes.

How do you like GRU's electric bill? Do you live in the city or the county? Property taxes have gone up in the city, my office building jumped by $700 a year. Also, my home which is close to Jonesville has gone up by a couple hundred over the last few years

 

City. The electric portion of GRU bill has gone up, but so has the trash collection fee. Had new windows put in so that has helped with the electric.

 

So has the gas and water

 

The homestead exemption caps annual increases in appraised value, but not the tax rate . . . So, the final tax bill could go up much more than I’ve seen. I was just saying that I haven’t seen the huge increase that DeSantis stated, but perhaps property taxes on business and non-homestead property have gone up quite a bit?
