If the point here is that all of the renaming over the past 10 or so years has been stupid, then point taken. But when you take renaming to the opposite spectrum of absurd as this does, then not only do you fail to make your point but also you make another, even more absurd, round of re-re-renaming inevitable (not merely probable) after the next Blue Wave.

A bit of history here. It was originally called the National Cultural Center, and the name was changed to The John F. Kennedy Center after President Kennedy was assassinated. Yes it can be changed through a legislative process but not likely to happen since 60 votes would be required to overcome a Democrat filibuster.

Having said that, changing the names of things, like the Kennedy Center and military bases, is not a good use of the legislature’s time. It doesn’t make food, gas, and housing more affordable, cool our over-heated planet, or make life easier to live as Americans.

 

Because they are the same thing.
