I was wrong, apparently there was an unofficial connection between the Gainesville In-N-Outs and the West Coast chain. Lacuna may have more details if the powers that be ever decide to let her post again.
There was an In-and-Out in Gainesville, pretty sure it was Southeast. Nothing like the Cali chain. Think it may have just been drive-thru
In fairness, Dickies workwear, Visa, and many others just moved huge corporate offices TOO California.
I read that In and Out has never had an East Coast location. Tennessee will be it's furthest soon. Was that a knock off? Sounds like a Checkers with the double drive. https://parade.com/news/in-n-out-burger-may-be-heading-to-the-east-coast
I wonder what the motive is. Greater number of skilled IT workers? The place is incredible in terms of nature, weather, etc. but I'm wondering what the advantage is for a company like Dickies. Maybe trying to become more of an online presence and, thus, need the tech workers?
Dickies is part of a larger conglomerate with many retail brands. The VF corp is based in Denver CO and they have many brands like Jansport, North Face, Vans, Timberland, Altra Running , etc. The only connection I can find is Vans (another VF Corp brand) is based there in Cosa Mesa, CA. So sounds like VF corp is just consolidating some of their brands at same locations, most likely it’s a cost cutting move.
