My son made the point that no one is watching cable much anymore when they can go to YouTube. Colbert may make more $$$ that way.

I love how people simply don't get what the first amendment means and think this has anything to do with it.

He likely already does as far as viewer generation.

I think I read that Fallon gets more views on YouTube than viewers live and that's because monologues and guest interviews are relatively short and work perfect on YouTube and people can pick what they want. Fallon actually plays to that audience.

UNLESS, it's the government getting involved to shut someone up because they hurt their feelers.;)

I don't think trump had anything to do with this though, even though he'll take credit.

In the world of TDS all things emanate and are derived from Donald J Trump. It’s almost as though they’ve anointed him as….King, Emperor, Supreme Leader, or gasp, God.

I love Nate's comedy. Especially the one that starts "My wife is the man of the house," and involves water heaters. His deadpan delivery is a relief from the screamers and screechers.

No matter what side you are on, the show got way too political but the bottom line is money and the show was losing millions. The reasons are declining ad revenue and the high cost of production. Plus, late night TV is not necessarily profitable for streaming platforms especially Colbert’s show which leans heavily on current events that provide little shelf life. It’s too bad but probably won’t be the last late night TV show axed.

Wait, did Biden's doctor plead the fifth because of client patient privilege? Yet... vaccines were forced on the world population because why? Sorry for the tangent, duggers_dad.

When I'd sleep over at my aunt's house I'd try to stay awake for Carson, but I always fell asleep. I think I was about 7 years old.

10 Ideas For Better Shows To Replace 'The Late Show' With Stephen Colbert

    1. Kidney Stone Watch: 90 straight minutes of a dude trying to pass a kidney stone.

    2. That old "KaBoom" infomercial with Billy Mays on loop: Such a classic.

    3. Cemetery Cam: Nothing but a livestream from a camera at a cemetery. Big upgrade, CBS.

    4. The Ingrown Toenail Experience: Way less painful than the "Vax-Scene."

Like this idea that it protects you from criticism of said speech? That's how it works people. You are free to say it and we are all free to call you an idiot or genius for saying it.

Agree, 1st amendment rights is used frequently when it doesn’t apply.

A issue here is did trump admin/FCC approve the skydance deal as part of a quid pro quo for CBS firing Colbert.

FASCISM ALERT: Show That Wasn't Making Money Canceled

NEW YORK CITY — In a stunning example of rampant fascism, a TV network cancelled a show that wasn't making any money and had terrible ratings.

"The Colbert Show spoke truth to power and its cancelation is a chilling example of the fascism that's growing every day here in the U.S.A.," online culture blogger Danielle Swanson wrote this week. "With Colbert off the air, there will not be one single late-night host left who will criticize Trump. Fascism has won."

CBS announced this week it was cancelling The Late Show starring Steven Colbert, stating it was purely a business decision due to no one watching the show and its losing $40 million every year. However, journalists and Democratic politicians argued that the show's 100-million-dollar budget had nothing to do with the cancellation and place the blame squarely at the feet of the Trump administration.

"My losing the company tens of millions of dollars every year is textbook fascism," said Colbert. "That dastardly Trump has done it again!"

Exactly. As ive repeatedly said, the psycho left has defined its true North, as opposite Trump.

Its laughably pathetic, and painfully toxic.... but they can't see it in themselves--too busy tripping over themselves to keep up with Trump, and rabidly attacking anyone who doesn't rabidly hate Trump, as MAGAt(s).

    LOL(osers)!
