Well you should call them the Baltimore Foals. Colts is a callous, exclusionary affront and a sexist slap in the face to mares and fillies everywhere.
I thought that was a unique and classy name to go by. Redskins is a straight up racial epithet so of course the idea of bringing that back is ludicrous, the league would probably block it anyway even if the franchise actually wanted this. Pure vice signaling to the racists amongst us. I never understood why Cleveland “Indians” needed to be changed. Indians at least seemed pretty neutral to me. But with Redskins it’s pretty damn obvious.
It was mainly Chief Wahoo and the cartoonish caricature. Homelander went Full Senile on the Guardians too. Lectured their owner who is not their owner about losing elections because of the baseball team name. Dude losing it faster than the client list.
It definitely was a racial caricature. No doubt about that. They could have used a non-caricatured or plain logo design if that’s what it was about, but I guess made the choice to just cut it entirely.
I don't find the Gulf of America thing offensive. I find the entire thing kind of funny just because it causes the libs to get all bent out of shape like Trump intended it to do. When talking to someone I am sure Gulf of Mexico would be what I used just because at this point I am pretty much set in my ways.
The issue. You may be overthinking it, although analysis and insight is always welcome. I think the issue is more straightforward--Trump is a bully, Obama was not. Simplistic, perhaps, but it fits in a nutshell.
