Softball Transfer Portal

According to On3's transfer portal site, she's still unsigned. Choosing between Duke, South Carolina & Arizona.

 

Just a thought, is the door open for her to return to the Gators?

 

I don't have that kind of insight. While I would like that to happen, my guess is that the chances are close to zero.

 

wouldn't that depend on why she entered in the first place? I have no idea why she did but I would at least inquire.

 

Like I said, I have no idea.

 

I think LL saw she had zero chance of playing CF and less than zero in RF and would have a heck of a battle for LF and nowhere in the infield to start. She chose not to battle it out and is banking on starting elsewhere. My 2 cents only. I do not have any inside info on this.

Good for her. Plays for Mom and stays near her ailing Dad.

 

I thought it was crazy that she came to us in the first place instead of playing for her mom. lol

 

Never understood that either.

 

Teammates may think she plays too much.
Her mother doesn’t play her as much to keep away from Favoritism.
There are many reasons to go somewhere else.
Learn someone else’s system, experience, new ideas, and new places, Etc.

Her sister has been committed to UCLA for a year or two.

 

And her brother has been at Miami for several years. None of the kids stayed home. Kinda surprised she decided to go back to Duke. Not the other way around.

Very simple reason for top transfer talent going elsewhere of late - $$$$
Following the money will answer almost any question of why things happen the way they do.

 

Has anybody picked up on any further portal transfers to the gators? Things have been quiet lately.

 

Ole Miss has added ten via the transfer portal.

 

They lost a ton which was somewhat surprising considering they had a good year. Their coach has always been a question mark with me. Came to Oxford with baggage and made it worse right off the bat. I wonder if she is an issue for some players.

 

Speaking of issues. Did anyone else see the article about Memphis softball and basketball being put on probation? Apparently, a tutor paid a couple of softball players to take exams for some basketball players. I assume they were online exams or someone at Memphis can't tell the difference between the boys and the gals. Anyway, it occurred when SVP was the head coach. The article said as soon as the coaches found out about it they reported it to higher ups so props to SVP. The tutor has been given a 10 year show cause order so she is going to have to find other work.

 

Memphis and Hardaway are not exactly known for academics so no surprise.
