Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy justified the termination of $4 billion in unspent federal funding by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), citing 16 years of failure, no completed high-speed track, and escalating costs.
Duffy declared the project, dubbed the "train to nowhere," a mismanaged and over-budget "boondoggle."

"This is California’s fault. Governor Newsom and the complicit Democrats have enabled this waste for years. Federal dollars are not a blank check – they come with a promise to deliver results," Duffy said in a statement.

California sues over billions lost in high-speed rail funds as Newsom battles Trump administration

The original plan was for 800miles of track but has been cut back to 119miles.
10 years after breaking ground they haven't laid a foot of rail?
And Newsome can't seem to understand why Trump withdrew $4 billion?

Florida was smart to reject that HSR project. Everyone with half a brain knew it would fail in California.

Florida rejected because Rick Scott wanted to use the company that he invested a lot of money into. Now that Rick Scott's company is running it they are using federal money

Meanwhile, China adds the equivalent of the California HSR every couple of weeks.

Side note: in my suburban town just outside of Charlotte, it took EIGHT years to add a couple of lanes to a small overpass near my home.

Trump is bad, but Newscum is a used car salesman. What a dipshit.

I was vehemently vocal in my opposition to that project at the time when we were discussing that subject here. I knew it was a boondoggle. We got a good enough train done the right way.
