Millennials and Gen X managers are also reporting high rates of layoffs in a period known as "the Great Flattening". Companies are hiring right now at nearly the lowest rate in a decade at a time when the federal government is laying off people by the thousands. Trump has been mismanaging the economy, with his random threats of tariffs and gutting of important government services. Job searching in 2025? It's a mess no matter how old you are.
More winning! Trump finally finds a scandal that might "finish" him. Apparently MAGA people are very excited about the Epstein files, and all of the (non-Trump) names that might be found on it. Obviously, Trump is a Christian with his own brand of Bible, so there is zero chance that he associated on a personal level (much less a scandalous level!) with Epstein, even if Epstein was considered "part of the furniture" at Mar a Lago. MAGA supporters wanted this sordid Epstein list released both to prove Trump's innocence and to find out how many democrat scandals they could publicize from it. A strange thing happened on the way to releasing the Epstein list. Trump's Justice Department claims there was no client list (to the conspiracy-minded republicans, that SCREAMS cover-up). Then Trump's attorney general Pam Bondi announced that its time to move on and ignore this issue (more cover-up). The hard-core MAGA conspiracy theorists started to turn on Trump. Now Trump is reviled at both ends of the political spectrum. Combined with his presidential incompetence, this scandal is causing Trump to be even more unpopular.
