They'll claim the bill is racist, protest it, and counter propose immunity for fenty mules...

...and sing stupid songs about it, and make up idiotic cheesy AF chants, like "hey hey, how ho, X hsd got to go!"

    LOL(osers)!

While that is good, his administration has also severely cut NIH funding to support academic/small bio companies focused on discovering and developing non-opioid analgesics as future solutions to the opioid crisis. So it is hard to take this administration seriously that they really are trying to solve substance abuse disorders. Like most of Trump's policies, they are half-baked ideas that he can roll out in a tweet or executive order.

So how does this fit in with the “new tone” policy? Why aren’t the mods rushing to delete this?

NIH funding isn’t necessary for this. There is a huge market for non-opioids and the first one there will make a fortune

Not as much as the Pubs want their groomers and pedos.

Yes, it is necessary for the innovation needed. The US biopharma environment is built on academic centers funded by NIH to discover new targets, small companies willing to go after novel targets with funding from venture capital, larger companies for late stage development and FDA for regulatory oversight. It's also important to recognize that a single new drug will not make the problem go away as it may only be efficacious in a small percentage of the population. Consider we have non-steroidal analgesics like ibuprofen already, yet an addiction crisis.

Another great example of successful innovation that started from NIH funding is CART for oncology.
