Why don't any of the MAGA people ever comment in threads like this? Aren't they proud?

Under Trump we've;
- terminated all US foreign aid, which was only appx $60-70 billion/year
- cut an est. 11.8 million people from Medicaid
- are preparing to cut much or most of the DoE budget, whose largest expenditure is college loans and Special Education funding

-increased ICE budget by appx $150 billion, when most illegal immigrants are obviously going to end up staying
- added nearly $4 TRILLION in deficit-funded tax cuts, mostly for the rich

Why no comments, MAGA? Aren't you proud?

This. The only way to be sure the money is completely wasted and the food can't ever be used is by paying to incinerate it - plus, bonus emissions!

Govt waste. Drop in the bucket of govt waste, perhaps the first time such a large scale food waste occurred for such little reason or even just for sheer spite/cruelty.

Lighting on fire $500 million in desperately needed food does pretty well encapsulate what we have now. Sad.

 

Not MAGA, but the why question can also be asked in the other direction. Why do you have an expectation that people should post about these things?

I’ve learned to very cautiously proceed before slurping up whatever the media says, especially about something like this. There is often another side to a story like this or further context that has been excluded in order to spice up the propaganda value of a story like this. The media is not this unbiased entity that deserves to be trusted at face value. You might like an MSM that indulges and reinforces your own biases, but a lot of us have learned the lesson to never trust an MSM who clearly takes political sides and spins the news accordingly.

They're ignoring this because they've thrown their integrity, their compassion, and their respect for the rule of law aside in order to worship the felon Donald Trump.

It must seem convenient to, in every situation, have that bad ole media at hand to blame for the grotesqueries MAGA supporters tolerate and enable. Why, when you think about it ..... practically everything is reported in that bad ole media. So you can just ignore it in order to worship and enable Donald Trump. Must be nice.

 

I’m far from a MAGA but to me, Trump, while being an idiot, was still a better option than Kamala Harris. You need to remember that there are a bunch of moderate Republicans out there who, like me, voted for the lesser of two evils. This situation is also very much on the Democrats who after finally running got Joe Biden, went all in on Kamala Harris who in the end never had a chance. The result is you have 3 1/2 years left of Trump so sit back and at least be happy we don’t have a Joe Biden or Kamala Harris in office.

And we’ll learn more on this “food waste” issue but overall, USAID is a complete joke in terms of how they were disbursing taxpayer money and being we all recognize and want to limit government waste, dismantling USAID was a good move.

I find that interesting, when you clearly saw with your own eyes Trump inciting a riot and an attack on our government, in trying to overturn an election. Hard to think what could be more un-American or "evil" than that. But I guess it's subjective.

What other reason? There are plenty of good, private sector charities set up to distribute food and clothing - and most of them Christian, I'm sure. Imagine the PR good will it would've generated if they had donated this food. They're going to have to pay to get it loaded up, they're going to have to pay for trucking to get it to the incinerator, they're going to have to pay for the incinerator - it might have been cheaper to donate it.

What's next, Trump's crappy Deficit-funded Tax Cuts for the Rich Bill didn't add appx $4 trillion to the debt or cut 11.8 million people off Medicaid, because ..... that was reported in the media?
