if he did not have narcotics and the gun was legal, he shouldn't have a problem

Don’t think there’s any argument that he had narcotics. Was it just weed and/or hemp products (what they call the delta products), was it one of these synthetic things that are apparently felonies now, or was it something else all together? But I agree with you, if they get rid of the felony drug charge, the gun charge goes with it, and we’re looking at a misdemeanor or possibly just a civil penalty.

*Apologies, I was using controlled substance and narcotics interchangeably.

    Are you calling weed “narcotics”?

    From Webster Dictionary online

“1 a : a drug (such as opium or morphine) that in moderate doses dulls the senses, relieves pain, and induces profound Sleep but in excessive doses causes stupor, coma, or convulsions

b: a drug (such as marijuana or LSD) subject to restriction similar to that of addictive narcotics whether physiologically (see PHYSIOLOGICAL

    addictive and narcotic or not”

So pretty broad term. I realize in a strict sense marijuana is not a true narcotic because it’s not an opium derivative. Thus hard core gang bangers and former dealers ( both on Skink’s resume) dispute marijuana be labeled as such.:D

That’s what the government calls it. Feds still label it as a schedule 1 narcotic.

*Apologies …feds consider it a schedule 1 controlled substance, not a narcotic. Cops just threw a “narcotics” label on something they were in possession of. If it was delta products, the felony charges should be dropped. If it was creatine, the felony charges should be dropped. If it was one of the synthetics that some rumors are saying, then he may be in trouble. They’re also saying there was regular old weed, which they issued a separate charge for.

It really shouldnt be any issue unless someone is dealing and cutting in on the government's business.

I can't believe in this day and age, we are still arguing the legality of weed. It's actually a great litmus test to see who's in what generation.

From looking at the charging document in the Hillsborough County public records, Johnson was charged with 4 counts:
    1. Misdemeanor Felony of Resisting an officer without violence
    2. Misdemeanor Felony of Possession of Cannabis, less than 20 grams
    3. 3rd degree Felony of Possession of a controlled substance, 8 grams of synthetic Cannabinoid.
    4. 2nd degree Felony of Possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

His 4 bonds were set at a total of $8500, which was posted on 5/4/25.

This was the arresting officer's written report:
"On the listed date and time, the defendant was observed operating a gray Dodge Challenger bearing FL tag #KVO76N. As the defendant approached the intersection of 4th Av E/19th ST N, the defendant stopped passed the stop bar. A traffic stop was conducted with lights and siren activated. We made contact with the vehicle occupants and advised them of the reason for the traffic stop. The defendant who was the driver of the vehicle immediately became argumentative. During our contact with the vehicle occupants, we detected a strong odor of burned marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The defendant refused to exit the vehicle. He was asked several times to exit the vehicle but he refused to comply. After several orders to exit the vehicle, the defendant was removed from the vehicle and placed in custody. During a search of the vehicle a back pack was located. Inside the back pack Marijuana was located along 8 grams of synthetic marijuana. inside the same bag the
defendant's U.S Passport was located. Both substances field tested positive as such. Both substances were weighed using a digital scale. A black Glock 19 with a serial #BSVP914 was located inside the vehicle. The handgun was loaded with 17 rounds in the magazine and non in the chamber.
The defendant was positively ID via FL DL."

The last court entry on the case was 6/5/25 when Johnson signed an affidavit waiving his right to a speedy trial.

I have read that he has been in summer school and is participating in workouts, but wonder if he will be allowed to play until this matter is resolved.

The cop at our poker game used to have to go on the front porch while everybody smoked a joint because he could not be around it.

The weed charges are just plain dumb as many counties dont even prosecute it in florida anymore. Sounds like they had a quarter ounce or so of each so there wasn't even a big drug deal happening either.we can carry guns so that may not be a huge issue either. If he had a quater lb of weed and a gun, that would be an entirely different issue.
What he is without a doubt guilty of is being a complete dumbass and then exacerbating the situation by not being polite and complying with the cop who is doing his job. Get out of the car and apologize dumbass, you possibly wouldnt have even gotten arrested.
