Nothing to do with shoes, but to those that doubt he can succeed in a high-major conference: Princeton defeated Rutgers (a Big 10 team) in Newark (neutral court, but in Rutgers' home city), 83-82. Xaivian had 21 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. Rutgers had 2 of the top 5 picks in the NBA draft.
I do think Lee will succeed at Florida, but Rutgers wasn’t great. In fact, their KenPom rating was lower than all but one SEC team (LSU) this year.
Just look at the powerhouses Richard, Clayton, and Martin came from before Florida. It doesn’t matter when people can just flat out play ball.
Yep. People look at the school name too much. But the NBA is full of guys who played at mid-majors and low-majors, while lots of high-major guys never sniff the NBA. Gotta remember, kids develop at their own pace. Some are still growing. Some are already fully grown. Some had lousy high school coaches that don't even teach fundamentals well. Some relied on size and speed to dominate smaller, slower kids in high school and never worked hard at improving. Others did. Some are all about the "me" and not the team.
