Thank you EoW - Obviously getting his commit and ultimately his signature would come pretty close to filling the one glaring need UF still has. Sure we need another linebacker and corner, but this position group is the biggest need. These interior defensive linemen have become hot commodities and difficult acquisitions, even for the 3 star guys. My anxiety level for this position group would be significantly reduced should he commit. Any On3 or 24/7 projections at the moment?
DT should be the position we're focusing on with our NIL money. We need to replace Robinson and Shivers.
I was kind of surprised they let Robinson go. Replacing him with a true freshman seems a little strange. perhaps that doesn't happen If they knew shivers, wouldn't be here
So many things to consider. Was the NIL that much more? It would take me hundreds of thousands over a couple of seasons to consider if I were in Robinson's position. Easier for me to just decide that, unless UNC is Texas rich, it was about more than just money. The guy went to Texas then transferred back home and gave us one season. To me he seemed set to be high in the rotation second season. Well on schedule to build his NFL resume. "After a 16-tackle, one-sack season as a true freshman, Robinson was poised to take a larger role on the Gators' defensive line this season and even earned starter reps in spring camp due to various injuries in the room." Former Gators DL Quickly Finds New Home
Valdin Sone - Blue Ridge School - Defensive Line Sone CB'd to UGA. No chance UGA keeps all six of those DTs (plus Sone).
I. M even though Beck sucks, it's still wasn't making us feel really good when they took him. In hindsight, they can have his ass
You wouldn't think so and our staff can still try to get a flip. Sone would be a beast DT for us. On paper, georgia only signed 3 HS DTs past two cycles. They can make the case that that taking four this cycle still means PT, and they are getting paid regardless. I know our staff will stay on Sone and James Johnson. Competitive money and a good season will really help.
