Surely you can see how it looks for someone who, with their own vote, condoned Trump's real incitement of violence ...... to then later lament someone else merely discussing political violence?

Political disagreement is one thing but some seem bent on violence. Agitators have previously used legitimate protests to, well, agitate violence and rioting.

We know many Democrats were stunned when Donald Trump won a second term as president. We know many are still angry about it. But we’re just now learning how angry some of them are.

It’s not just grandstanding Democratic lawmakers like Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). Axios reports that “at town halls in their districts and in one-on-one meetings with constituents and activists,” Crockett’s more centrist Democratic House colleagues are “facing a growing thrum of demands to break the rules, fight dirty — and not be afraid to get hurt.”

“Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough,” said one Democratic lawmaker (out of nine) quoted in the Axios article. “Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot [in protests at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities] … that there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public.”

Another lawmaker told Axios that constituents say “civility isn’t working” and to get ready for “violence … to fight to protect our democracy.” And another said, “It’s like … the Roman coliseum. People just want more and more of this spectacle.”

The story goes farther to note that violence is already happening.

I have my suspicions as to why it's happening but see a small microcosm here in THFSG with a handful of posters. Beyond the obligatory (or repetitive) insults, my question is why?

No doubt there are heavily armed far left groups out there that are looking for any excuse to get violent. There always have been. I remember the Weather Underground, and Students for a Democratic Society back in the 60’s that would infiltrate corporations like Dow Chemical and commit sabotage, and the Black Panthers. The Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and Earth Liberation Front (ELF) that went after polluters and animal testing labs. Those are in the past but one has to wonder if new far left groups are forming that will commit acts of violence.

I’m sure you have some first-hand experience of the “by any means necessary” approach. In their minds, there is no lie too big. It then leads to violence. Natural progression of things for the left.

If Republicans have, I wasn't aware of it and suspect the corporate media would have had it running on a 24/7 loop.

This has to be one of the must unaware self-owns I’ve seen on this board. Your own politicians are afraid of death threats for not towing the party line when they control all three branches and you’re just worried about the other party? Makes sense, those death threats are in furtherance of you getting what you want.

And they are more similar to each other than they'll ever be able to recognize. The greatest example of this that I see on a regular basis is an intense hatred of people they don't care to understand.

They failed the reading comprehension test in this simple post. Keywords in your post: Republican Legislators.

The posters here cannot find any legislators calling for violence, and then conflate crazy partisan people in public to make a point that's just not there.

The Dem Party is out of real good policies so they are now relying on not so subtle passive-aggressive statements that are purposefully stated in their pressers to gin-up their crazies.

They know how to bend the rules of decorum and they know how to get the most "action" out of the base voters without crossing the line of actual incitement.
