...... is it any surprise that people may be angry?

Justice was very clearly and shamelessly ignored. There wasn't even a fair trial.


(And since your OP references violence, it's also appropriate to mention that that same sitting President pretty clearly incited violence on election certification day, as part of his effort to overturn an election. You don't expect people to just ...... forget about all of that flagrant and un-American criminality, do you?)

We have plenty of sources of a Republican sitting President personally inciting violence (which is obviously worse than just talking about it) ...... and then pardoning 1,500 violent criminals.

That happened. And people saw it. And they are unlikely to either forget about it, or accept the subsequent attempts from Republican to lie about it.


You probably think I'm just trying to be rude, partisan, or argumentative ...... but there's a very direct link between that criminal conduct and people losing all faith in the justice system. And perhaps even wanting to commit political violence of their own. After all, they literally saw it happen and go unpunished.

Surely you can see how it looks for someone who, with their own vote, condoned Trump's real incitement of violence ...... to then later lament someone else merely discussing political violence?

 

I dont think you can talk about extremes and violence with any value unless one does cite equivalents though. Speaking as the board "both sides marm" that i am, its pretty easy to find examples on both sides.

Republicans have been threatening a civil war for years and basically were ready to go that route if Trump had lost this last election. The Democrats being the “party of violence” is a projection and a distraction from the other side because they know they’re much more guilty of said violence. Most of the political violence lately? Republicans. They’re also the same party that call the left groomers and pedophiles yet they’re almost exclusively the only ones getting caught ever doing such things.

All they do is lie and distract constantly about everything and their base will believe it. Sad.
