Keep in mind, the mighty vegasfox is a pattern recognition genius. In response to your comment I looked up what the Austin Fire Chief had to say when he was sworn in, to assess his priorities: "Among his priorities, Baker will focus on staffing and hiring a workforce reflective of Austin. “When you want to recruit African Americans, you send African Americans,” Baker said. “When you want to recruit women, you send women. When you want to recruit members of the LGBT community you send those members who they identify with. We will let people know that Austin Fire Department, it’s not a job, it is a career." Austin Fire Department's New Chief Sworn In on Sounds similar to the mindset of the lesbian LA Fire Chief Austin (TX) Fire Union Rips Chief Over Refusal to Deploy Amid Deadly Floods The Austin Firefighters are outraged by Fire Chief Joel G. Baker’s decision to deny the deployment of our highly trained swift water rescue teams to Kerrville until July 4th, despite the State of Texas calling for assistance on July 2nd. Only 3 AFD rescue swimmers were sent—far too late to save lives. Austin (TX) Fire Union Rips Chief Over Refusal to Deploy Amid Deadly Floods Not having a siren system along the river is on Republican Kerr county. Interesting that there does seem to be a DEI angle involving liberal Austin
Not sure what this has to do with thr situation. Haven’t seen any reports of widespread fires in the Austin area
I added to my post. There is a DEI-firefighter-pre-deployment angle to the LA Fires and Texas Flood stories. The Austin Fire Chief served 30 years in the Marines (good). First African American Austin Fire Chief (okay). His competence/priorities/mindset/focus will now be scrutinized. The LA lesbian had to resign. Joel Baker will face similar pressure. Bottom line: The blame Trump take was wrong
I dont question if Jesus would speak of repentance to the ones he ministered too. I am saying that He wouldn't base his help on what someone had or had not done. In other words, repentance is needed by everyone.... Equally. Not just the ones that famous people single out as the "cause" of some bad event.
No. It is me telling you that even if it is, you are being selective in your outrage. But no, an "all white" camp would not want blacks and hispanic councilors in charge of their kids. A lot of the reason you see such little diversity is because African Americans have the option of all black camps. It's the idea of HBCU being mostly black. I understand why that was necessary 60 years ago, but today it is mostly traditional. My guess is African Americans treat camps in a similar way. But nah, you have to jump to conclusions to fit your narrative. Hope door dash delivers to the island you set up on.
I haven’t “jumped to any conclusions”…. Someone was attacked for saying it was an all white camp…. I did my own search, couldn’t find a single black camper, and asked for evidence that it wasn’t all white. You guys “jumped to the conclusion” it wasn’t and tried to defend the Christian camp without providing any supporting evidence. But my offer still stands, if you can find a photo of a black camper, I’ll change my mind. It’s sad when people like you attack someone for seeking the the truth about this Christian camp and their incompetent and likely racist leadership, then say the people who question the attacks are “on an island”. I’m happy to be on that island where facts still matter.
Again, I didn't see her questioning the need to rescue the kids. Perhaps I missed that line or glossed over it. But I think her bitching about race at all at a time like this was absolutely inexcusable. I guess there will always be jerks. It was good to see the mayor step up and take action. Otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly and appreciate your comments. I didn't know your role as a first responder, but I have no question that they're out there doing a very difficult job as best they can. I can't imagine the emotional difficulties of their job in Texas this week.
Kind of ... it was brought up in post #163 as evil people telling "Lies about Camp Mystic being "Whites Only." I find that an interesting side story, since someone brought it up.
If you don't have dams, levees, drainage systems, sirens, phone alerts(?) then at least have proper evacuation plans in place Looks like a Republican Kerr county fail with some blame (perhaps) going to the Austin Fire Chief
Nah, the FD in a city 103 miles away isn’t the problem no matter how much the bot tries to redirect. The abject disregard for all those little girls to play politics is sickening.
I've got a better idea. Why don't you just STFU or show us some evidence of blacks that were turned down. If no blacks wanted to go to the camp what is the problem?
Just maybe the reason there isn't any black girls in the picture is because they all went to Camp Founder a summer camp built strictly for African American girls. They are only 50 miles apart. https://www.campfoundergirls.org/
She was attacked for the timing of the message as much as the message itself. If she had brought this up one month ago, probably doesn't receive quite the same level of brushback. I suspect one month ago, though, she was not as concerned about the "whiteness" of this camp. As for the message itself, she appears to be convincing herself of her own conclusion without having done much research. She's demonstrated the useless ability to search for pictures and make a determination based on those pictures that anybody and everybody who attends must necessarily identify as "white." Even further that those who wouldn't are forbidden from participating. She's genuinely frustrated about behavior she has observed and is twisting those observations into her interpretation of this event. It's a normal human reaction, but it's ridiculously irrational. I've seen events full of people that don't look like me and have naturally wondered if I would be excluded from such an event. I've also been fortunate to have people take me in so I can experience it the way others are experiencing it. Most times (if not every time) it turns out not to be an exclusionary event, but just one that may look that way and as such may keep others out (our personal biases creating restrictions in our mind that don't actually exist). That doesn't make the gathering of people that look the same to be a bad thing. Sometimes we just need a friend to help get us out of our comfort zone. Turning the ICE disaster into a "white" thing is another indication that she just doesn't get it. But hate isn't the best answer to ignorance, hopefully people can positively enlighten her on the way. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
The Austin firefighters are blaming the Fire Chief. They say his decision likely cost lives. When this tragedy broke, within minutes liberals were blaming Trump and climate change. In response I put the blame primarily on Republican Kerr county and I said some of the blame perhaps should be placed on the Austin Fire Chief. Both the lesbian LA Fire Chief and the African American Austin Fire Chief seemed to be too preoccupied with DEI goals imo. When that happens fire departments become less competent.
