If Christians are trying to stop murder, how do you explain the rise in maternal mortality after the law change and death rates similar to third world countries?

I just can’t believe the Dems have formed an allegiance with Al-Qaeda.

OK, well on second thought, I can believe it.

Mortality and murder are not the same thing. There is 0 question murders have gone down in the state of Texas since they banned abortion.

And maternal mortality rate has skyrocketed in Texas. Deaths that are preventable, since they don't happen in other states and countries that don't have a law like Texas.

And abortion numbers? Down within the borders of Texas. But plenty of women leaving the state to get one.

I am not deflecting. The law is clear. If doctors in Texas are failing to do their job. It is on them. You can’t defend this fact. Instead you listen to the BS spewed by those that also want to legally be able to kill the most innocent for convenience.

Now read the law. A doctor does not have to check if there is a heart beat to perform an abortion in Texas. No matter how many times you lie about this the law has not changed and clearly allows an abortion in a medical emergency with or without knowing if there is a heartbeat.

If you are going to make an accusation that a group of people are responsible for murder like you surely did, then you better be the one that has the facts and evidence lined up to prove your point. When accusations of murder are made the burden of proof certainly rests on the shoulders of the one making the accusation.

Rising maternal mortality rates are not proof. There are lots of possible explanations for rising maternal mortality rates. Ask ChatGPT. You will get a very straightforward answer with lots of reasons why maternal mortality rates are up in Texas that have nothing to do with the one reason you think has to be the singular explanatory reason.

I have never looked into it. Feel free to research it. But it is not the law. And you know it.

I fully understand you think it is good and okay to kill the most innocent for convenience legally. We disagree. But you cannot show anything in the Texas Law that is not clear about the fact a doctor can perform an abortion in a medical emergency. Heartbeat or No Heartbeat.

Yes, denying mothers with miscarriages proper medical treatment and killing them because of RELIGIOUS BELIEFS instead of MEDICAL NEEDS isn't murder.

Let's not even get into white, right-wing, christo-fascist gun owners who MURDER thousands in cold blood each year, from their political assassinations, to shooting up schools, theaters, places of work, etc.

Now, let's talk about the Inquisition, the Crusades, and endless wars incited and supported by "Christian" church and its followers. Not to forget the sexual abuse, corruption, greed, etc. that the church has always represented.

Never was any murder, rape, or pillaging in the name of God there, right?

Do you think men have changed their stripes or they are essentially the same at all places and times and therefore, we need laws that apply to EVERYONE at ALL times, because people as individuals cannot be trusted?

This is the problem with Christians - they think THEY are the only ones who matter because the rest of us are going to Hell anyway, so do as you like.

Here's a hint you won't follow: Take a closer look at the right-wing politicization of your Christian churches (which has been going on since Christ left this mortal coil) because you are failing the basic test of being a supposed FOLLOWER of Christ.

We are in a country based on freedom of religion (ALL religions) in which you are supposed to "render onto Caesar what is his", not run amok in an apocalyptic fever dream where God wants YOU to seize power on Earth NOW to do whatever you think HIS will is - which has nothing to do with scriptures and everything to do with what you think "fallen" (usually people of other religions, beliefs or perspectives - somehow conflated mostly with darker-skinned people in your world view) people do.

Of course you, like endless millions of self-proclaimed Christians over history, - to whom books are akin to kryptonite - have never even bothered to read and attempt to understand the damn thing. Merely because it is beyond your ability to rationalize and understand along with how the world IS and how you must live IN it as a Christian.

The problem is you are told to come to Christ as "children" and never question what you are told by the Church and its leaders. Because of that you never learn to live like a mature, thinking, rational human being.

You can't rationalize or understand the world, so you feel the need to CONTROL it.

And we all know how kids love to be bullies and tyrants when they think they can get away with it.

Which is why we are SUPPOSED to have a separation of church and state - which you just can't live with, so you destroy the only institutions that the rest of the rational, mature people depend on to keep YOU out of OUR lives.

Texas recently passed a new abortion law. Before the abortion law, maternal deaths were in line with other states and the rest of the first world. After the law passed, Texas saw a huge increase in maternal deaths. States and countries without a similar law did not see a similar rise in maternal deaths. Occam's Razor suggests the most likely reason is the law. No other explanation or excuse has even been attempted.

100 OBGYN doctors in Texas agrees the law is preventing them from saving women's lives. And women like Kate Cox decided to leave the state to get an abortion to save her life after the Texas Supreme Court denied her the ability. Her choice was either leave and get the needed care before her life was in danger. Or stay, and only get care at the point that her life was in danger.

I don't need AI to tell me what should be obvious to everyone. But if anyone really wants to, put the law, the Cox case, and all articles about the rise in maternal mortality into CHATGPT and then ask it why Texas women are suffering.

Lots to respond to here, but I will keep it short:

    1. Murder is murder and it is against the 10 commandments. Every society, Christian or non-Christian, societies that believe in the 10 commandments or societies that don’t believe in the 10 commandments, has recognized it is wrong and outlawed it. Outlawing murder is simply the way humane societies function. It is not uniquely Christian. It is basic fundamental human morality.

    2. Yes, there are people who have claimed the name of Christ and done things very un-Christlike in the past. We can’t control what was done by hypocrites in the past or what other hypocrites might do in the present. All we can do is the right thing right now. Outlawing murder is not one of the mistakes of the past. It is the failure to outlaw murder that gets a people and societies listed with the Nazi Germanys and the Stalinist Russias of the world. Outlawing murder is one of the things people have done right in the past, and we should not repeat the errors of countries like Nazi Germany by tolerating mass murder.

    3. Given societies have universally outlawed murder, regardless of whether they are Christian or non-Christian, what you present as a separation of church and state issue fundamentally is an argument for the separation of the state from morality and ethics. You basically want a state that is unconstrained from the shackles of universal human morality. We have examples of this in history. There is Nazi Germany. There is Stalinist Russia. There is North Korea. That is what separation of morality and state looks like, and I exercise my choice for my country not to be like those countries.

I'm guessing its more hospital admins and their legal advisors making these calls rather than doctors themselves in the moment, and they can definitely read

You are too focused on the packaging. The question is...what is the product inside of the packaging? When talking about the Taliban and the DNC...you remove the packaging and what you have left after that is murder among other things that are immoral. When talking about Christianity...you've got a moral holy law, that is a reflection of the moral holy God who gave that law, that is unlike the bloodthirstiness of the other two.

Seems to me Christians like you carve out broad exemptions to what "murder" means and decide God is ok with the death Christians enjoy inflicting on others.

Most are. And some will lie like @AzCatFan to push for the ability to legally kill the most innocent for convenience.

I promise you. You will not be able to cite anything that is unclear in the Texas Law when it comes to the ability to perform an abortion if the Mother's Life is at risk.

I posted it for AZ and he has continued to just pander with feelings about the reality of the Law. Here it is for your to read as well...

And this is where the Christians have moved the goalposts on the rest of humanity in their efforts to CONTROL women's bodies: biblically since the time of Cain murdered Abel in the Bible, historically and legally, murder is something committed by one independent human being against another independent human being.

As so-called Christians went against biblical teachings and amassed earthly power instead of following the Bible's teachings and have captured our justice system and changed laws to have dominion over women's bodies, effectively merging church and state in a country where there used to be a distinction, doesn't change the fact that abortion is not murder.

All you are really doing is ensuring that Christianity will continue its slow decline to irrelevance due to your ignorance about what made your country special before you decided to uproot the Tree of Liberty and destroy the work of the Founding Fathers because you need to control what happens inside a woman's body:

Separation of church and state - which you have effectively wiped out.

Separation of powers - which you have destroyed under Trump.

Freedom of religion - which you attack daily to increase your chosen religion's power.

Birthright citizenship - which you are trying to overturn right now.

Again, you are ensuring that you will be replaced because people CAN make other choices, most of which does not include unwanted pregnancies that could kill them because of what you support.

In other words, the law of unintended consequences is alive and well and people will not be controlled. They will just suffer and die in many cases because of your extremist beliefs, which IS murder - denying medical care to another human being because your religion told you to.

And let's be clear, your side is the one setting up the camps for immigrants and you don't give two shits if they live or die as long as you don't have to look at them.

Jesus will not recognize ANY of you if you even really believe in Him, which I sincerely doubt

MAGA doesn't believe in free markets, free thoughts, or freedom - they just like to wave the flag and pretend, like they did on January 6th.

So in the end, YOU are the problem you are trying to solve - you just don't realize it!

Oh please spare me your piousness. The Bible is filled with war, genocide, and even infanticide - you just choose to ignore it, but God in the Old Testament was ALL IN on it.

Again, religion is poison for a lazy mind that doesn't care to think critically. Historically, societies solved this by having endless wars to educate them in a way they could understand, if they survived at all. No one wants peace like a man who has actually seen the elephant many times.

Now we have tough, gun-toting macho BOYS who try to prove their manhood without all that danger. What it leads to is the obvious downfall of confused BOYS thinking they KNOW until they FAFO, and usually it's innocent people who get to pay for the meltdowns of white males who are insecure about their manhood and have too many firearms to help them along in their desired path to immortality.

The real problem is that some people never develop into mature adults who can think critically and make their own choices dependent on civil laws and cultural norms without a moral daddy telling them what to do.
