I find this disingenuous. Especially since so many believe that anyone living, working or going to school in the USA should at the very least speak English.
Remember when the right pretended to be pro life? Who cares about poor kids? They need to pick themselves up by their boot straps and get a job
Oh no, it seems I've missed the link that this asinine decision has been rescinded. Could someone tell me in which post the link was placed?
Why are you quoting me? Especially since I was taking the side that this was a bad move? And I was quoting 5151? I do not care a bit about your petty “fight” over what insisted where or when.
They can't help it. They've been programmed to quickly defend Trump at all cost even if they don't have the details
Inadvertent. Relax. This is just an internet message board after all. Did not mean to ruin your morning.
Looks like he left the thread. Weird how that seems to happen a lot when Trump supporters are asked to back up their claims. You'd think that maybe the other Trump supporters would notice it, and ...... notice how little regard for the truth the people who share their beliefs seem to have. Weird that they don't.
Seems this poster abandoned this thread when confronted with challenges to verify the truth of his claims...... the horror. But great news, he's excited to start another thread about dear leaders testicles.
I bet it annoys you when you go to the store and hear people speaking a language other than English, and you think that if they’re going to come here, they should at least learn English. Am I right?
The funniest example of what you just mentioned. I was in a convenience store 2nd in line behind a Mexican. The cashier was of Indian origin. The Mexican kept trying to order cigarettes and the Indian pretended he couldn't understand. The Mexican finally got mad and walked out. The Indian replied to me "When I came to this country I didn't speak English but I learned, I now speak 7 languages fluently and one of them Spanish but If that SOB wants to talk to me he can do it in English" I don't think I stopped laughing until I got home.
I totally agree that if you move to a country with a different language, you need to learn it. My very liberal mother used to get very irritated if she went to the store and the workers behind the counter spoke Spanish to each other. She even told them on more than one occasion to only speak English around customers. She found it rude. All the more reason to have funding so they learn English!
I gotta call you on that. If you sit in a lobby and hear 3 or 4 people speaking Spanish when they get called to the service desk they will probably speak English with the person there. Why should we have to pay to teach them English especially since they choose to speak their own language anyway.
No clue why if something is wrong, to not call it out as being wrong. People so want their party to always be right that they literally will either lie or be ignorant about a real issue. IF this is true, this is a problem.
They most likely already benefited from an ESL class. If I moved to France I'd want to take a French class and it would be especially helpful if it were free.
Why should anybody from a foreign country expect anything free? Especially when us citizens pay for most everything. I'm all for teaching them English but not on my dime.
