MAGA equals WWE fans. They all swear it’s real and will get into fights in the stands when another “fan” disses their favorite wrestler star.

Although they are more likely to call themselves patriots the irony is that Republicans or at least the MAGA Republicans whose first loyalty is to Donald Trump are also far more likely to reject the norms embodied in the Constitution than are Democrats although the latter are also far from perfect in that respect. As an example adding the caveat that he may not be serious one poster to this board has frequently indicated that he has no problem with Trump ditching the 22nd Amendment so that he can serve a third term and despite specific language in the Constitution a number of posters have no problem with the denial of due process to undocumented immigrants.

And I don’t think there’s any question that democrats are more likely to say they hate America.

More accurate to say that they hate the policies of the current administration than that they hate America.

I would add that it was Trump's unexpected increase in support among those voters that led to his election in November. Somewhat ironic since the policies of Trump and Mamdani aren't remotely similar it was the same voters who were responsible for Mamdani's victory in the NYC Democratic Mayoral primary. In both elections those Gen Z voters were pissed off over high prices and were conned into believing the candidate of their choice could lower prices.

I would prefer to say that Trump is and has been the biggest threat to democracy since he fell off the golden toilet in 2016.

Opposing Trump is the most patriotic thing you can do. The reason dems/libs shy away from calling themselves patriots is that the right-wingers use the term to describe themselves in an exclusive way. 'Patriot' is to the MAGAs what 'comrade' was to the communists in the USSR.

As president Johnson signed the three most consequential civil rights laws in history, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Fair Housing Act of 1968. As the Senate Majority Leader he pushed through enactment the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 which was vehemently opposed by the Southern Democrats referred to as Dixiecrats, the same type of politicians who would be MAGA Republicans today.

Curious what periods or events in America Conservativesare proud of that they were directly responsible for?

The ideology has historically always been the one in opposition to equal rights for many groups (still ongoing), they’ve been anti-science, anti-labor, sports? (shut up and dribble), certainly not the arts…maybe the wars they’ve dragged us into?

    So we've heard:

"in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote."

watch what happens when Trump goes after mamdani. Mamdani will fight back, his popularity will soar with the uber left that lives for attacking Trump, Then Shazaam, guy gets elected on bitter emotions and NY is stuck with a true loon for mayor. All purposely done

Nah, when Trump says stuff like that you guys always fall back on the 'he's joking' excuse. He's not joking. Trump has a tendency to say what he's thinking. He already tried to overthrow our democracy once. I fully expect him to try again, though I don't expect him to be successful.
