Between the bloated budgets for the military and the immigration troops, this is going to be one heavily militarized country. I'm sure the people suffering from lack of health care and insurance will sleep better knowing that the brown invaders from south of the border won't be stabbing them in the back (according to Trump) or hitting them over the head with a baseball bat (also, Trump.)

It’s quite a feat to kick 15+ million people off healthcare AND blow the budget by $3+ Trillion. But here we are. Again.

Sometimes the race card is a trump.

Who's being deported and detained? South Americans.
Who's being given sanctuary? South Africans.

These things I hold to be self-evident: race and sex factor heavily in Trump's decisions and policies. If you don't see it, that's fine. I know you're super comfortable with your beliefs, having been reminded of this fact many times.

I do switch channels when watching the news. I go from FOX to CNN to MSNBC to News Nation. I like to see what both sides are saying. Today right after the bill passed Fox had the press conference on with no commentary. CNN and MSNBC showed the speakers speaking but the audio was turned way down and the news people were talking over their voices. Actually I think News Nation has the more balanced coverage on most subjects.

Between the shrinking of the security net and the expansion of the deficit, what, exactly, is MAGA so excited about?

I think that at the end of Trump's term, when there are only 12 million illegal immigrants in America instead of the 13 million right now ..... they will be ecstatic over those results that spending $50 billion/year more on this achieved.

That will be an amazing result for the low, low price of $200,000 per illegal immigrant.

    That was then:

“No member of Congress should be eligible for re-election if our country's budget is not balanced---deficits not allowed!” [Tweet, 7/31/12]

“Our $17T national debt and $1T yearly budget deficits are a national security risk of the highest order.” [Tweet, 11/13/12]

“Concerns over the national debt are stopping businesses from hiring and expanding…” [Tweet, 11/2/12]

“If we don't take back our money and if we don't, you know, balance up our budget — at least get it damn close and soon — we're not going to have a nation anymore.” [Infowars, 12/2/15]

“We can balance the budget very quickly... I think over a five-year period. And I don't know, maybe I could even surprise you.” [Hannity, 1/21/16]

“We’ve got to get rid of the $19 trillion in debt.” [Washington Post, 4/2/16]

    This is now:

"To those who criticized his spending and the growing national debt, Trump said: "Who the hell cares about the budget? We're going to have a country."
"For most of President Barack Obama's time in office, Republicans seemed to care very much about the budget, making fears around the national debt and deficit their top talking point. They've backed off those concerns under Trump".

Recap: I posted "So Pubs use gimmick fake math to circumvent standard rules to pass the bill, but poster thinks the minority party using approved, traditional methods should be punished...... yay, fascist authoritarianism here we come. Sad"

Your response was I copied it from MSNBC.

I stated I did not, and asked if you had any rational thoughts on the post.

Your response was a summary of your tv news watching.

Why would any tv news have a response I would use to @gaterzfan post #272 ?

One upside to this administration moving so fast—and breaking stuff—is that the results, good or bad, will fall squarely on MAGA

Oh, when have they ever taken responsibility for anything? They will blame it on immigrants, LGBTQ, the squad etc or find a new bogeyman/woman and the resident lemmings will follow suit.

Serious answer; they're just excited that Daddy gets to say that he did something. They don't really like most of what's in this abortion of a bill either.

Besides the tax cuts and wasteful spending on immigration, Trump doesn't really even like most of what's in the bill ..... if he even knows! He just wants to pretend to be passing legislation.

    "Look everyone, I'm presidenting!!!"

It’s interesting to read how many folks on the Left know exactly what the Right is thinking and how we perceive everything.

Thank you. However erroneous you are it does lessen the need to post.

Trump just destroyed the global economy. Just a matter of time before it drops and WW3 begins.

I don't want to hear anything about the debt from Republicans ever again. You just added a shit ton of debt to give yourselves a tax break after years of free stimulus and had the opportunity to balance the budget.

Not surprised this happened though with either party. The Boomers aren't willing to give up their nest eggs in retirement. Anyone 50 and younger is screwed.

Since government deficits are no longer an issue then should be easy to pass Medicare For All
