This is way bigger than if we had gotten a 5* wr or edge. This was a huge need. Put that money together for Sone and another developmental DT now.

Will be honest watched him and the big OT (not sure if he was a 3* or 4*?) during the Ft Myers Spring contest. The DT reminded me an awful lot of Myron Charles (signed with Texas last cycle), in that he would become a complete non-factor for a number of consecutive plays? I wondered to myself if conditioning was a factor, my thought was both of these guys should have been dominating the level of competition they were seeing.....but both were not unfortunately.

You’re not wrong. In the first half vs LW, he was pretty average mostly with a few flashes. He does have a nasty streak which is good!

Was the only time I've ever seen him or the big OT play, as I'm usually more focused on HS football a little further north. Had seen Myron Charles play several times both his junior and senior seasons, and came away feeling both Charles & Guervil were very comparable in that both would disappear for a large number of plays.....The OT for FT Myers could use a whole lot of nasty in his play, the kid from LW gave him fits the entire half, and in my mind that just shouldn't have been happening with either of the FT Myers players.

Watch the hudl film of a guy like Ean Johnson Kelly 3*DT from Manatee last year, he consistently ate up average competition and was always a total disruptor. Things became a little more balanced when he faced talent from say a Venice or STA, but you'd expect that. So when I see guys like Charles or Guervil, that are blessed with all the physical advantages not show out against average competition.....it concerns me

Stamina is a very underrated trait. It wins tight games in the end.

The fitness level of a 315 lb. high school junior is the content I keep coming back for on this board.

Lets see what kind of stamina he has after being in the program a year or two. Many dont even resemble themselves physically a couple years later

not discounting the scouting report, the taking plays off or shall we say inconsistency is more common than it should be even at higher levels. You tend to see it more in out of shape guys and in games that are not competitive. I observe it just as much it seems in WR's who don't like to block, again at every level of play.
