Gainesville ranked #1 most dangerous college town in the US

Dumbest crap I ever heard. Yeah most dangerous if you’re a criminal and might get charged rather than making rape cases with credibility just disappear. Where was there methodology for this crap? What a load.

IIRC, in the '80s, Gainesville was Murder City USA twice. Small town, small sample size, stats can get skewed fairly easily. Didn't feel unsafe.

 

Considering this is restricted to towns rather than cities and also that Gainesville is on a huge drug smuggling route (I-75 north) this shouldn't surprise anyone.

Also it's very safe if you're not about that life. Lots of gangs have a presence but if you're just an average Joe it's as safe as any other town.

 

How many of the “crimes” take place on game days? Is open container a “crime”?

 

Like any town, there have always been bad areas in Gainesville. Just stay out of those areas and you'll have a great time. These stupid lists that internet "journalists" crank out these days are a dime-a-dozen and not worth reading. So I didn't.

 

Those crank internet journalists are most likely AI. I've read so much AI generated "journalism" lately its not even funny. Typically they have some easily debunked "fact" wrong.

 

So AI is about as reliable as the human journalists? Is there even such thing as an editor anymore?

I'm never ever going to Gainesville again. Will watch games from a quiet sports bar in Baltimore or East Saint Louis.

 

Apparently the Editor is AI as well. When I think about how AI learns, from what I understand it scrapes the internet. Considering the Himalayan size mountains of foolish garbage, rumor and innuendo on the internet, how can it not get messed up?

 

I dunno, Southside of Chicago sounds like a great place to watch
