I don’t like it either @scooterp , but to these kids the semis have had more recent success than we have. They were like 2 years old when we beat Oklahoma in 2008, and we haven’t made much noise sense. It sucks, but it’s also a reminder of how difficult it’s been for CBN to re-establish UF as a contender for championships again
That use to be the case but its not so easy anymore. One of my sons girlfriends goes there and shes pretty sharp. My other sons girlfriend had a 4.5 in honors classes and still didnt get in. She had to go to LSU
My dad was stationed at Tyndall as well and retired while there. We didn't live on base though, I went to Moseley High and Mowat MS. I was going to UF since they were the only ones that offered my program. I thought about Auburn which was the same distance as UF but out of state tuition shut that down. Miami was a private school and FAMU was a no and there weren't any others in the state at that time. Most of my friends at the time ended up going to FSU though, including some that got recruited by Bowden.
I went to Everett Junior High - down the road from the big paper mill and no air conditioning. If the heat didn’t get you, the sweet stank from that factory did. I was thrilled when Dad told us we were moving to Ft. Lauderdale
We only smelled the paper mill when it was going to rain for some reason. We were closer to Lynn Haven.
University of Texas offers recruits Lamborghinis, but the Criminoles offer Free Shoes. For some recruits, free shoes is a no brainer!!!
I have to process some things here. I’ve never considered anyone with any connection to FSU to be self respecting. Please give me a few minutes.
I didn't get there until 1980. At that time I don't even remember an Everett Middle School, where was it? There was Rosenwald, Jenks and Mowat. And there were 3 high schools at that time, Bay, Moseley and Rutherford.
