    A 10 seed is close to as high as a major conference school usually gets. The 11+ seeds are mostly made up of automatic bids from less competitive conferences. UGA did get a 14 seed in 2008, but this is supposedly the highest seed ever awarded to a team from a major conference.

    That isnt really how it works anymore. Certain slots (11-16) are basically locked up by AQ mid majors or teams that get upset wins in conference tourneys. Those top 10 seeds are for teams that automatically qualify. UGA fit that bill the year they were like a 14 seed after shocking everyone in the SEC. He has them as literally the bottom group of that barrel. UGA being ranked between 40-50 and sitting on the tip of the bubble is exactly where they were this season and where Mike White often was here.

    I think Lunardi has them nailed.
