Agree. Building a new one is probably more cost effective than fixing the old one but the only areas on campus that you could fit one in is over by Condron field and the Harn. Maybe some of those rec fields. Putting it off campus would be a non-starter for me.

It’s unlikely the current structural steel would support additional structure on top of what it was originally designed for back in 190whatever

They could tear down the classrooms and dorms and send them off campus.

Agree, it would be a significant structural re-build and very expensive. One of the numerous reasons I do not see any possibility that seating capacity will do anything but shrink.

So... we're the poor fans? We're what the Bama's fans and the UGA's fans call LSU, "the poors."

That would work. Just looking at it from google maps it would be a little tight but I do like the idea of putting all the athletic facilities over in one area. Parking could be shared since there isn't a lot of overlap in the seasons or days that multiple sports are going on at the same time.

Well, if we canceled all the non revenue sports, we may could find some more parking too.

Yeah who needs classrooms and dorms at a university anyway. We’re trying to run a football program!

I agree with @Gatorhead that there is no stomach for building new capacity to replace that slashed in this current plan.

Considering the current dymanic climate in College football I'm not sure its wise to dump 1 Billion $$ in any type of facility. With revenue streams now going to players, where are all these funds coming from.

As far as historic building go, they are meaningless to UF.....they recently tore down a building that was on the National Register of Historic Buildings to build one of the most hideous buildings I've ever seen.

All joking aside, unless the NCAA gets hammered by Title IX this will happen. It happened to UF's wrestling program in the 1980's. I can see them ditching Men's Tennis and Swimming as well. I'm not sure about Track since some of the Football players also want to run track.

Title lx is a crock. If schools/ boosters fund it, play it. If they don’t , it should be gone.

I don't disagree to a certain extent, but you know UF likes to get those Federal funds. They would get rid of every sport if for some reason they threatened that funding.

HA, yep. I could take or leave soccer but I do like to watch women's softball. It moves fast and is pretty entertaining, more so than women's basketball.

If the federal funds were for sports that only the kids and their parents care about , it would make sense. Attaching all that together legally is just plain dumb and no way to run a business. And its all a business

I watch some womens softball too and that might could survive. Id guess there are some boosters that would fund it. Public highschools find a way.

Ours loses about 2 million a year, not counting NIL. They still think they're being shortchanged.

Its funny that hs girls play doftball and it doesn't cost that much. If ggey werent sucking funds from football, i bet they could figure out how to do it much cheaper.

According to a search of ADA handrail regulations, the following is true:

"It is important to note that while residential homes are not required to have ADA compliant handrails, commercial buildings and remodeled buildings in the United States are required to have them."

If the proposed plans are finally implemented, the Swamp would qualify as a "remodeled building".

I suspect the Chapter 10 FBC rules would also apply.
