Haven’t heard of any folks hunting pythons in Florida being eaten by a python. And there are no weapons involved as they are caught by hand ….. then humanely dispatched.

I would think that those on the left would be in favor of getting rid of the pythons, just like the conservatives are. They are destroying the balance in the Everglades with small animals.

It’s been multipurposed. Everyone wins, unless the detainees litter.

For only $450 million a year, we can rid of all those roofers and farm workers

I’m assuming he means detained migrants need to do it. It’s either that or the gas chamber I guess.

A poster above mentioned paying them for all pythons captured.

So...the goal here is to give these folks a job that Americans wouldn't want to do? But to pay for their housing and food while they do it. And letting the government decide the job.

But not on farms or doing construction. Just pythons.

Won't somebody think of all the Americans trying to go to the Everglades and kill pythons having their wages suppressed by these terrible immigrants?

So we have to imprison them before… {checks notes} paying them? Why not just… you know… hire them above board???

Im sure a small # of migrants would sign up and be willing and ready to do this work just as they already do other undesirable jobs. In either case I’m not sure how many people we actually need or could sustain out there hunting pythons. Whatever the # is would be a drop in the bucket compared to ag workers.

It's not slave labor ..... it's a contest. Best wranglers get a green card and likely a job with the state.

Another interesting possibility might be to ...... register them as temporary non-citizen laborers and allow them to keep their current jobs. Then harshly penalize anyone who hires someone not registered.

This would allow us to regulate the amount of non-citizen labor, to tax these workers, not disrupt businesses, and to save tons and tons of money we're spending capturing them in order to send them to foreign prisons, or possibly to go hunt large snakes.

Granted, that ^ wouldn't allow Donald Trump to go around spewing his racist lies or enable his followers to get all rilly rilly angry because ..... gulp ...... people who don't look like them are here working crummy jobs. But it would save us a ton of money and headache.
