There's basically no place in the stadium that will accommodate folks your height comfortably and there never has been. Even someone my height (5'11") isn't very comfortable on a sweaty Sat....you just gotta get up for it and if you can't hang, stay at home in the A/C in front of the big screen.
Florida Field is a dump! It’s been a dump since I graduated in 75. Thankfully we have an AD who will get off his ass instead of just sitting around grinning thinking everything is great “we are Florida” That BS attitude will and has set us back . The upgrades that Scott Striklin has made is awesome! Some of you will never accept him but he is an upgrade.
You have a point. Its the worst concessions and bathroom situation of anywhere i frequent. Some love it that way i guess.
I suppose! Honestly wish they would tear the thing down and start over with a new facility. Florida could split home games in Jax , Orlando, Tampa for 2 years
It takes two years to build a custom home. Do you think they could actually pull that off on a couple years.
I guess if you want a pro stadium for a newly pro team, then more power to you. If you can afford it, that is. Or you could just save time and go be a fan of the Jags or Bucs.
I am a Jaguar fan ! Can I not be both ? What the hell ? Have you been down to Melrose for of their sweet stinky?
Well said. BHG is a shrine. The heat, humidity, metal benches, the inevitable storm, peeling paint, the stench, the noise...all of it. You just got to love Florida and Gator Country on a glorious September. Who we are and what we do.
I’m over the greed and sports in general because of it. It’s to the point now that I wish it would all crash and burn so the rich f’s profiting from it would also. What a messed up country (and world too for the most part).
What's wrong with you Wanne and Wing? Swamp facilities brings back fond memories of my stays at Starke or the old Escambia County lock up.
I realize there are some differing opinions about what is sanctimonious and what is terribly deficient. And yes, I gave up going to games quite a while ago. And my take is much more about what I consider good use of funds and what is probably going to be a boondoggle. IMO, what appears to be the direction UF is heading in football is a HUGE boondoggle. They will make the changes, realize they were trying to be "partially pregnant" and it will be a failure. But they can accumulate more money in the future to finally do it proper. What is "proper"? Unless you have some magic wand that I do not, it plainly means...building a totally new stadium. If you want Fenway Park or Lambeau Field, you live with the warts. The damn bad heat, the narrow legroom, the bathrooms and concession areas are all set in stone (okay, actually concrete). They just are. And yes, it is entirely plausible that the reason for this "interim" step is to get "their type" of fans to attend while shooing away the real fans. And then when it has been transformed in the stands, there can be a push towards real "progress". You know, a true AAA level facility and not some relic of the past, like a Cleveland Stadium. What happened when the real fans didn't like the plans for "progress"? They lost their team. And then it took some extra money to acquire another one much later. Are we having any fun yet?
Repairing BHG and making it more comfortable with better bathrooms and concessions is a terrible idea? Hating on the AD has a LONG tradition here.
